How Many Full-Time Workers Have Side Hustles?

Nowadays it seems like more and more people have one or more side hustles besides their usual full-time jobs. I am retired but used to write articles for a blog site online and made pretty good extra money. I have also been doing surveys on a site that I have been on for about 8 years now. I also am a member of several other sites where points add up and I am able to get gift cards. I wonder how many of you still work full-time jobs(40 hours a week) but also have side hustles. Not just the surveys and such online but ones that take you away from home?

At one point, my husband had three full-time jobs before he met me. It's sad that the cost of living is so bad that you need to.

That is so true. I also had three jobs after I left my ex. I worked them for about two years.

@kaylachan Need to do side hustle is becoming a reality everywhere. Yet, in some ways, my and succeeding generations adopted a lifestyle which made earning more essential. Yet it also bought with it higher stress and health issues as well. But well, this is the new reality.

I used to have short term extra jobs aside from my full time job. There was no internet; they were jobs I had to go to.

I know that feeling. I worked at a fast food for awhile. Manual labor and torture.

The way we have to lead our lifestyles, Highly stressful work environments, Health issues and so many things, a single source of income is often insufficient. So it becomes imperative to have a side hustle. It is best to plan and create a hustle sufficient for future earnings. Yet, often that is not so easy but one should always keep on trying. I hope that your article writing as well as site surveys are able to get you good enough money.

It used to be a bit easier back when we had unions. Companies had to treat us right. The writing did pay quite well until they closed the site.

@celticeagle I suppose unions are more active in the manufacturing sector. Not Service Sector, I suppose!

When I worked I also had a business at the Flea Market every weekend. Now I just do survey sites online, sell on ebay, facebook and next door. I also have stuff in one store on consignment.

It is nice that these other places help us like they do.

I have a well-paying job and am in my last few years of my working career, and the hours that they give to me is often too many and I give it away to those younger and more eager to earn extra. I've never had a side hustle.

I had a good-paying job when I was younger. I really enjoyed it.

I am retired but do surveys, focus groups, etc. We use that money to eat out. Have a great day.
