The reading room!

April 10, 2024 4:17am CST
Good morning, fellow myLotters! I wanted to discuss something I am excited about. My parent's room has been sitting there for ten years. True, my cat used to sleep on my parent's bed. But he has many spots in the house where he can sleep, and it has been a while since he's slept in there. So, my sister is going to sell all the furniture except for the desk somewhere where people sell things to people in their area online (I know nothing about those sites) Then our handyman will sand the walls as there are some large cracks in them. not sure what we will do with the floors.might take the rugs off. I believe our handyman will paint the walls. but we haven't settled on a color yet as I want tangerine or aqua and my sister kindly suggests pastel colors. I want vibrant colors! my sister is getting a daybed for nights when she wants to sleep over. we will add a comfy chair and a lamp that she brought me last Thanksgiving when she got a new lamp for her home office. (I get all the things she doesn't need or want anymore and then buys herself something new) we will get an end table to put next to a chair where I can place my book when i am in between reading them I doubt we will put my bookshelves in the reading room because one set of my bookshelves fill a whole wall and then another set about 1/4 of the wall. they are probably too big for my parent's room I am pretty excited about this idea of my sister! Do you have a reading room or other special room in your house? Tell us about it.

I'm happy for your new reading room. It will be wonderful! I don't have any special room in my apartment.

thank you! I am pretty excited! I am worried I won't be able to read in it during the winter as it gets cold in there. But I will wait until our handyman fixes the outer wall.

No, but this is a good idea. I don't read often because I feel stuck.

I understand as there are times I don't read either. two years ago I couldn't read for a year.

That sounds pleasant really. I really don't have any special rooms. I spend most of my time in the living room where I am most comfortable.

I am not sure what caused my sister to come up with the idea but I kind of like it. I am usually in my bedroom. sometimes I will go to the living room to sit on the recliner and read. it depends on which of the two rooms I feel like spending time in. I do all my office type of work like making lists (I am huge on making lists) on the dining room table

That sounds like a wonderful idea and a lot of fun getting the room ready. I don't have a specific reading room but I tend to prefer relaxing in my recliner in my living room when I want to read.

It was my sister's idea! Right now I am either in my bedroom or living room when I am reading. But most likely my bedroom.

That all sounds really lovely and special. Maybe the room could be in pastel colours with a feature wall in a more vibrant colour.

that is a great idea! I tend to be an all-or-nothing person. But I could compromise if my sister would agree to it! I don't know exactly what colors I would want.

I hope maybe one day you will have a luxury mansion as that is what a person as sweet as you deserves.
