Will you look for the Northern (and Southern) Lights this weekend?

Solar activity is high right now, and the Northern and Southern Lights can be seen in many areas of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. I read one comment from Arizona, saying they could see them tonight. Arizona is pretty far South. Folks in Minnesota and Iowa are having no problem seeing them. Over the years, I have seen the Northern Lights in Montana and North Dakota (Northern states), and even once (vaguely) here in California. I just checked, but could not see them from my balcony just now. Will you be looking for the Northern (or Southern) lights over the next few days? Here's a report from Australia.

It must have been amazing to see the Northern Lights in those locations! I'll keep an eye out for any reports of the Northern or Southern Lights over the next few days. Have you ever tried to capture them in photos when you've seen them?

@TheHorse It's understandable that capturing the Northern Lights in photos might not have been on your radar before. It can be quite an endeavor, requiring the right equipment, timing, and a bit of luck with weather conditions. However, if you ever feel inspired to give it a shot, it could be a fantastic opportunity to not only create beautiful images but also to experience the wonder of the Northern Lights in a new and creative way. Who knows, you might discover a whole new passion for photography!

@annierose My brother is the photographer in the family. I am good at "composition." But my energy is devoted to music. You've probably seen this, but I'll link it anyway,. It's my music video with the most views. @Vandana7, from MyLot, is responsible for its existence. I am forever thankful to her. Sort of.

I didn’t know and missed my opportunity. They were not very visible here from the photos I’ve seen.

@Tampa_girl7 I may as well. I am home from Guitar Center and may check to see how far South on the West Coast the Aurora could be seen last night.

Woudn't Ontario be a good place to see them? If you get away from city lights?

Beautiful. No, I didn't see them. I forgot about them when I went to bed early last night.

They were incredibly beautiful. I’ve lived in places where I have seen them before, but this was a big show for everyone.

Maybe I;ll drive out into the county tonight. But I think I'm a bit South of the "viewing zone."

@TheHorse Other than seeing them in Montana and Canada, it's been many years since I saw such a show. Way, way prettier than the eclipse!

I looked a little last night, maybe in the wrong direction. Some people in my area posted pictures, and so did my niece in Oklahoma.

The best time to view them, according to our local news, was between 2 and 4am last night. But I was sound asleep. Our daughter-in-law and son saw them around 10pm. They are on the very edge of town and have a clear view of the open field which is across the street from them.

No I won't be looking. We lived on Lake Erie for 7 years and saw the Northern Lights one evening. It was amazing. Have a good day.
