My phone screen protector is broken again

I have to replace it. I dropped my phone yesterday. At least the phone's screen was protected and it didn't break. I replaced my screen protector so often. I am not sure if they should break so easily. And I will have to spend money to buy a lock on the door. My cats are opening all doors and they make a lot of noise at night. One of them meows almost all the time. At 4 AM they open the door and make noise. My screen protector is made of glass. It breaks so easily. Do you use a screen protector for your phone?

No. Actually you're usually better off without one. Most phone screen protectors are cheeply made. They do protect your phone screen, but are more prone to breaking. If you snapp one of those while it's on, it could damage the screen anuway. If you're dropping your phone a lot, you might want to consider a case for it. Thease typically protect the screen, ttoo. Sometimes better because the only way to damage the screen is if it lands on its face.

I have a case, but it's a silicone back cover. The screen isn't protected at all.

Mine is plastic, and it hasn’t broken in the three years I’ve had it. It cost me ten bucks, and it’s lasted with not even a scratch.

@dya80dya Yes, they most definitely are. They last a very long time in my experience.

When did it break the first time?

It broke a few months ago. And after a few days, I dropped the phone and it broke again. So I changed the screen protectors very often. Even the seller told me that I shouldn't use them.

@psanasangma Maybe the phone is too big. Is it waterproof?

I didn't have this problem before. But now it's breaking so often. Do you drop your phone often? I usually don't drop my phone often, but when it happens I have to replace the screen protector.

No, I do not use a screen protector, I never dropped my phone. Cats are nocturnal animals, they love to go around in the early hours of the day.

@dya80dya - I am very careful with my phone, I never dropped any of the many phones I owned.

@LadyDuck You are very careful indeed. I dropped all my phones. Sometimes the cable made me drop them. I tripped over the charging cable two times. It is long and the room is small.

We keep ours in the phone case & careful not to drop it cause they aren't cheap to replace if it gets broke.

@dya80dya I'd try & work on that then cause the cost of phones aren't cheap.

This isn't a big deal. At least I will receive money this month. They accepted my disability.

I put my phone in a drawer at night so it does not get broke.

I keep my laptop in a drawer. Can you hear the alarm if you keep it in a drawer? Or you don't use an alarm?

I want to replace my phone too, but next year. I hope that my phone will last until then. The price will be lower.

Investing in a sturdy lock for the door might provide some peace during those noisy nights.
