Another book from my elementary school-hood, and another that I read several times, though not for several years. It will be a fast read, but enjoyable. I had forgotten that the story was supposed to have taken place so long ago--like in the 40's. This was another one that I had no idea was the first book in a series--though in the case of this one there are four books, not just two like the last childhood books I read. Hope all is well with you in your part of myLot land!

I have enjoyed reading YA books as an adult. One of my favorite authors is Chris Crutcher. When I was young, my favorite author was William Steig. I just loved his books and his illustrations!

I don't believe I've read anything by either of those authors. I believe I've heard of William Steig, but not Chris Crutcher.

@xstitcher I take that back--I totally remember Sylvester and the Magic Pebble by William Steig.

@xstitcher Chris Crutcher is a contemporary author. His books are very sweet. My favorite book by William Steig was Dominic. I can't believe it was never made into a movie, because it's quite an adventure!
