I believe the interceptor missiles r directed at curtailing the Russians. Iran and N.Korea have or in the near future will have any inter-continental missile that would b able to reach europeon soil. The move by its nature is way of threatening other nations wat will happen if they stood up against US monopoly as Russia has seen been doing constantly lately.
