A supper of Peri-Peri leftovers

We stopped by a mall yesterday afternoon to cool down and to buy a few stuff before heading to our provincial home. I needed some 3M glue sticks for my collage art projects but there was none at the stationery store. My girls got their little A6 notebooks for drawing and supplies for school. After a bit of shopping, we had dinner at Peri-peri Chicken. I've tried their roast chicken several times and really loved it but I've yet to try their pasta and other dishes. The husband seemed to have read my mind and ordered a nice menu while the girls and I were at the stationery store. We all loved the carbonara and the variety of sauces for the roast chicken plus the java rice. The fried potato slices were savory too. Would love to come back next time and try their salads. We packed the leftover pasta and chicken. I couldn't afford to throw them away. And now I just had them for early supper. I'm stuffed and happy that I didn't waste good food. Do you bother to eat leftovers?

I feel good when I'm able to NOT waste food. Sadly, we still have food that end up in the trash bin.

My husband and I were having a breakfast of leftovers the other day and we were laughing because we could not even finish the leftovers. LOL I cooked enough for four the day before thinking that our daughters would be hungry when they wake up, but they weren't. Good thing the leftovers were hotdogs and corned beef. I can always add them to pasta or toss them into our fried rice.

Since we moved to a city condo, we've thrown more food than ever before. I'll have to find a way to reduce our food waste. In our provincial neighborhood, I can easily just pass on the food to a neighbor. But in the city apartment, there's no one to take it. But now, I'm thinking that perhaps we can give some to the guards that man the apartment lobby. I also need to portion the meals properly and learn to cook only what we can eat during a meal.

@almostoveryou - I have never thrown food. I know how much we eat and I try never to do more than we consume. If I have leftovers we eat the day after, but I never throw food. Passing food to the neighbors is not something we do here.
