My dishwasher or the pods?

For the past six months or so I have been using the pods in my dishwasher. Four or five times now I have had to run the dishwasher a second time because the pod comes out of the little door that you put the detergent in and gets stuck on the bottom rack! The water here is also expensive ! So this is hard to afford and also a waste of time! Has this ever happened to you? picture via YouTube

I've used pods in mine for years now. I have never had that happen. You do know you don't have to put the pod in the little holder, right? The electrician who came to work on my washer told me that...he said you can put it in the dish rack basket and it will work fine. I do use Kirkland pods..they are not gel, just a soft little pod. But I've never had one do that.

No I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me. It might be this dishwasher.

@MarieCoyle I make my own pods and use them occasionally and they are never perfectly shaped to fit into the little dispenser on the door. Everything comes out clean as a whistle.

@Juliaacv I like the pods. I had a tendency to use more liquid when I used that. Before that, long ago I used powder. I hated it, it didn’t always dissolve and I tried it again when I moved, I still didn’t like the powder.

You do not have to place the pod inside the little detergent compartment, place them in the body of the machine, either at the bottom of the dishwasher or in the preferred spot.

Last night I put the pod in one of the silverware baskets and it worked great!

@dfollin I am glad. As they dissolve in the water, it's the best way to go.

@LadyDuck I think so too, but this started happening and last night I had to run the dishwasher 3 times! This expensive water! After Marie Coyle told me that I didn't have to put it in detergent compartment I put it in the silverware bin and it worked great!

99% of the time we hand wash dishes. We hardly ever use our dishwasher. Have a good weekend.

With my medical conditions it is hard for me to do that. Plus it uses less water to use the dishwasher.
