So it turns out their hotshot new quarterback draft prospect is in trouble with the NFL. Apparently, he broke a cardinal rule by betting on some games. Hopefully, he can do some kind of penance and his career won't be over before it starts..dumb kid. Maybe he is manifesting his ambivalence. He had to know that was against the rules..

Are you talking about the wager with a fellow player for $10,000 they called off for who would win Rookie of the Year, him or his friend? I didn’t think much of it when I read about it because it wasn’t at an official casino or sports book. I figured a bet between friends wasn’t a big deal especially because they were betting on themselves. But yeah, you can’t really talk about “betting” at all without getting looked at funny. Good point.

Actually, I read the article. That seems to be the issue. It seems the bet was called off .so hopefully it will be forgiven.

@snowy22315 I had heard about the “bet”, but it sounded like a buddy thing so it didn’t make me think of trouble. But then the NFL head honchos aren’t exactly known for being reasonable so I’m glad it was as easy as saying never mind.

It's always disappointing to hear about a promising athlete getting into trouble, especially over something as serious as betting on games, which is a clear violation of NFL rules. As a high-profile figure in the sports world, professional athletes are held to high standards of conduct both on and off the field.

He has, but what the NFL will do about it..don't know. I think a hefty fine and stern warning should be sufficient. My understanding was the bet was never actually placed or was taken down.

I hope that Jayden does not get kicked out of the league for not knowing the rules of betting on football games unless he wants to be as known the Pete Rose of football.

I doubt he can plead ignorance on this one. I just really hope he doesn't get kicked out. His team needs him!!

These youngsters think they're above the rules. He will think twice before doing that again. Happy Mother's Day.
