Jay and I Drove to Bay City, for Dinner

Instead of eating out on Mother's Day, we decided to celebrate on Monday instead. This way, we were avoiding an overly crowded restaurant.
We had the senior buffet at Ponderosa, which was really good. Both of us had room for dessert and I took a small portion of bread pudding, with berries on top.
Jay had carrot cake, bread pudding and a few chocolate chip cookies. We were both stuffed to our ears!
Anyway, it was nice to spend some quality time with Jay.

Oh my gosh, that was a wonderful meal, you shared with Vince! We hate going to crowded restaurants and waiting in a long line

Our Ponderosa closed many years ago. My husband used to enjoy the buffet. I'm glad you had a good time. Have a good day.

In the state of Michigan, we probably have about three Ponderosa's left. They used to be located in every big city.

Ponderosa restaurants used to be everywhere. When I read this post, I realized I only knew of one left, and it's a two hour drive from me, Vandalia, IL. So, me being me I wondered if the one I knew of was even still open--I looked it up. I found this info...''In 1989, there were almost 700 Ponderosa locations. By 2003, there were fewer than 400 locations. As of April 2024, only 13 Ponderosa locations and 3 Bonanza locations currently remain open in the US. (via wikipedia)

Oh! I love that necklace. I collect unicorns. I think you had a great idea to go out on Monday. My ex and I used to always go on our vacations in September instead of mid-summer like many others do. It wasn't as crowded and we usually got a better rate.

We used to battle crowds every Mother's Day. Moving the date to Monday, there weren't very many customers at all:)

Jay didn't want to struggle through a crowded restaurant, on Mother's Day. So, we went out on Monday, which made our time together more enjoyable.

Sadly, all the Ponderosa's went out of business here. There are some Golden Corrals around though. Glad you two had a good time.

We had a Golden Corral in Saginaw, they served wonderful food. Now it's closed, along with most of the Ponderosa's in Michigan.

@kobesbuddy There used to be a few steak chains in these parts. I think Golden Corral is the only one left. It is a good chain though

I'm allergic to flowers and most stores and restaurants are handing out flowers to all Mothers! Then, I get sick:(

This is called a friendship necklace. Jay is my best friend and he refuses to wear 1/2 of a ladies necklace! So, I wear both 1/2s! lol

Thanks, Jay bought me that friendship necklace about a year ago. He's my best friend, but he refuses to wear 1/2 of a woman's friendship necklace, so I wear both halves! lol

Neither one of us like to be in crowded places. We'd rather eat with fewer customers and a more relaxed environment.
