I am furious!
Found out yesterday that they didn't give my husband physical therapy because they are waiting for the results of the Reconsideration. We are paying $300 a day for my husband to sit in bed and lose more muscle tone. I already told the Social Worker that we would pay for his PT if necessary. I must call her today.
I went through a 2" high stack of my husband's medical charges from the insurance company; and the only charge I see from the rehab facility shows that we owe $120. To make sure, I went on the insurance website and went through 4 months of transactions. The only billing that the facility has done is for a few days in February. Our portion is $120. I am going to have to call the Business Office again and demand a copy of the invoice for $1,218.

took good care of me, & I didn't spend much
time in there so I could come home.

That is absolutely disgusting and disheartening. People and their needs are what is supposed to matter in a healthcare facility.

Too bad he got stuck in that place. They don't sound good at all. It is too bad Erie is so far for you..I know a couple of nice places there. Actually, from what I have seen their rehab centers, assisted living are above average.

There is a good place closer to us; and hubby has a referral in for the place; but they never return my calls.

@LadyDuck I am going to call Physical Therapy directly today and ask them why they aren't giving my husband any PT.

I'm sorry the reconsideration hasn't come through yet. I'm sorry they didn't do any PT with your husband yesterday. It's all about the money. I hope you hear soon about the reconsideration and from the business office about the charges.

@LindaOHio Holy cow!! And not giving him rehab this whole time. Unbelievable! I guess that is so you can pay out of pocket for him to stay there longer for the rehab/or time in waiting period.

@kareng They called yesterday (5/15). We lost the Reconsideration. I have to call and see what our next move will be.

I hope you get this situation figured out soon. I think I'd be taking legal action. He is not getting well. Worse would be more like it since his muscles are strengthening. This is a very sad situation.

Maybe the $1218 is not actually a bill. I remember the hospital sent something in the mail for my dad and in the letter it was a ridiculous sum of money but it said it was not a bill.

I received a link this morning saying that India is the best place for old people. That is why Indians try to return to India in old age. The more I read about your case, the more I feel, perhaps that is true. I would be furious too, with what is happening.

That's crazy, girl you have a lot on your hands with what they
are doing OR should I say NOT doing & keeping you stressed.
I know this may be a little too much for you to handle but I'd
try & make a point to be there everyday or spend a few days
to give him the therapy he needs everyday to help him out.

@LindaOHio I know that was a task cause when they
came to do my pt & had to get me dressed it wore me out.
