The place to get a mirror!

I wrote a couple of months ago about how I found two nice mirrors in the rubble skip at the recycling centre when I went to get rid of some rocks. I am so sick of looking at this pile of rocks (from when we dug out our pond four years ago) that I’m determined to get rid of them this spring! I have to keep going back because I’m only allowed to take a certain amount at a time to the recycling centre without being charged, and I have to book in a visit a maximum of once per week. But the funny thing is that every single time I go to the rubble skip I come away with a nice undamaged mirror! Five so far, and each time I carefully sneak it out of there, take it home and offer it on Freegle. Today an elderly gentleman is coming to pick up this bathroom mirror. Someone else did ask for it and I always feel bad having to choose one recipient, but I did tell the other person that you never know, I might find another next week! Or in fact it might be worth them throwing away a few rocks or broken bricks just so they can go and look for themselves! All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2024.

Quite lucky to actually find undamaged mirrors that have been in the rubble, but part of me is frightened on what might the mirror brings. Anyway, that's just me, the overthinker talking. I really do find it awesome to find that kind of treasure.

What sort of thing do you think might contaminate a mirror?

@Fleura I once read an article saying that rubbles are usually not harmful, but some rubbles were studied to produce contaminants through time, such as nickel, lead, mercury and among others. An article also said that mirrors can get contaminated if its protected coating is damaged. Regardless, I am far more terrified of the thought that a ghost might be living inside in one of those mirrors.

@HaruLoid If it has just been put on top of the heap and lain there for an hour or two, I really can't imagine that it would have picked up many poisonous contaminants that can't just be washed off. I was thinking you must be imagining that people may have written messages in blood on their bathroom mirrors, or something like that!

Blodwyn, is that you in the mirror? You’re just how I imagined you from the waist down.

Wow....that is a nice one ..to find in recycling center. I now have a friend in recycling business. I have asked him for a cot for my tenant, and two to three ceiling fans. He says he will try to procure next week. Lets see. :)

That one is a very good mirror for a bathroom. It is a shame to throw things that are still good.
