Would you like to be a tech nail?

This is a good job. This job can be done from home. Many women want their nails to look beautiful. My mom is insisting a lot and she wants me to be a tech nail. But I have social anxiety and I don't have enough patience. I couldn't imagine staying two hours for one client. I don't have patience for this job at all and I am shaking a lot because of anxiety. It would be really difficult for me to have this job, but my mom cares only about money. I know money is extremely important, but I need to do what I can. Do you have enough patience for this job?

I guess you can try to practice it and see if you are able to handle it.

@dya80dya Sorry to hear that. Hope you find something soon so that you can have your own money and be independent.

@dya80dya It is a good thing that you already know that you are unable to do it.

You can practice on your mother. If you become good at your job, it should boost your confidence and decrease the anxiety. Some nail tech social media influencers also sell premade nails, or work on fake hands. Once you build a portfolio you can show the client the outcome so you'll be more confident as you can let them know exactly what you're able to do, so less pressure as well. Such job would give you more than money, it can boost your self-esteem especially if it ends up being your "vocation". I also think people will be more compassionate and understanding if you show up as a person with a disability, they might be inspired by your courage and determination. However, it'd really help if you like working on nails in the first place, if you're a creative type. And if your mother is willing to support you, even better. If I had someone who insisted and whom I could practice on, I'd give it a try. Then nowadays people spend a lot of time on their phones, I suppose even clients can keep themselves entertained and avoid talking to me unless necessary, while I work on them.

@dya80dya Aww, practicing on your hands is different, probably harder too. Besides, you should start with something simple and have the right tools. I read your mom spends hours for little designs, I suppose nail art, you can't start with those right away. As I wrote, some even sell premade nails, usually with intricate designs. Way more practical than painting on nails in person. Or you can use stencils and specific prints. There are many things you can do with nails.

@sabtraversa Yes, my mom likes nail art. I didn't know that they sell premade nails. This would be easier.

Two hours? A regular manicure shouldn’t take that long unless you are doing little designs on the nails. Maybe you could just do regular manicures. And hey, if you don’t think you can, then tough for them. What you want is more important.

My mom has her nails done in more than two hours. Sometimes it takes 3 hours. She needs little designs.

@dya80dya Oh, yes, those designs do take forever. I don’t have the patience for those.

How can you work at home doing nails? Tech sounds like a knowledgeable position, like an internet tech. Two hours is a long time. It probably won't turn out well if you do it because someone is making you do it. I say find a job or develop a skill in something that you want to do. There are other jobs out there.

@dya80dya I don't think I could do that and you should not either if you don't have the patience to spend two hours fussing over a client's nails. Find another job and tell your mom you can't do the one she wants you to do.

Tech nail is just a person who is painting nails. I don't know other term in English. It's not my native language.
