It's raining like Bengaluru...

And I am so so so happy about it
. The clouds did come on Friday and it rained good. They again visited on weekends but didn't rain. There was prediction for rain on weekends but it didn't.
And today the dark clouds came around 6 PM. We were hopeful for a downpour. But it seemed that the rain struggled to fall down. There was thunder and lightening for two hours with some cold wind, but not much falling on the ground. I was loosing hope and then suddenly around 10 PM, I heard the rain sound on my terrace
. And it's raining and pouring outside 
. Or as we say it's raining like Bengaluru
Yesterday the temperature was 39.5 degrees Celsius. And that's unbelievable one for our city. Bengaluru summers are pleasant one with temperature not crossing 32 degrees. But this year, it was strange and it seemed that the city is competing with some of the hottest cities of India. I hope that this rain brings down the temperature and we get back our Bengaluru summer.
Weather is acting crazy everywhere. The city is known to have rains throughout the year. In fact, we had floods in few areas in the last few years. And this year, we made headlines with scorching heat, no rain for 150 days ( drought like condition) and a severe water crisis.
I hope that it pours throughout the night. I want to wake up to the typical summer morning of the city. Wet mornings are what we have here . And hopefully the water crisis too will have some bit of relief with this rain.
And I will definitely sleep better with the sound of rain. .
It 10:39 PM and I am in bed enjoying mylotting. I will be here for some time and then sleep with the sound of rain

@LindaOHio Three minutes is too less. I hope that you get some more soon. We have got some rain every evening in the last three days. It's not enough but there is some relief from the heat.

It did bring down the temperature for a while and that was a relief. But it was not enough. We started with pleasant weather today but soon it started getting hotter as sun became too bright. We really want rain daily for few days.
I hope that you get some good rain and your flower bed is happy

Today was around 42 C .
Many Southern and Eastern parts of India are under heat wave effects.
Rain water is the best way to augment strategic and otherwise water reserves.
I think each big or small city should do so.
As of now, enjoy lowered temperature and rains.

Water scarcity can be so troublesome.
Plus I feel that one restricts drinking water intake and avoids certain things that use a lot of water.
That is not good for one's health.
Centre, state governments and local authorities should do something drastic for the overall water situation not only in Bengaluru but all over India.

Here I see the gardeners giving excess water to plants using pipes and not bothered at all about water conservation.

We didn't get enough to share it with anyone . It stopped around 12. Husband was awake till that time. And it's again a sunny bright day. We need some continuous rain for a good impact. Hopefully, the Cauvery water reservoir would have seen some rise in level. Water crisis is still there and we would need more rain.
The temperature started low in the morning but increased with the bright sun.

Nature has always been generous. Yes, we do get calamities and most of them in recent years are due to human interventions, too much of interferences.
Bangalore is reduced from a 37 percentage of greenery in 2000 to 7 percent in 2024. That explains the rise in temperature and clouds evading us.

@allknowing Here it is unstructured and unplanned development. Here in our neighborhood, many apartments have come up but none are fully occupied. There are apartments lying vacant for years. But then real estate is lucrative and gets approval easily. The same place could have been used for green patches, park, community centres if they were not only interested in money. But then it's only malls and apartments for the sake of development. Corruption is deep rooted

@JudyEv Even I was shocked to know it from users from Philippines on other forums. One has made a post about how it's a national emergency and all institutions and businesses are advised to be closed from 11_7 in the evening.

It rained for some time after I went to sleep. I guess that it would have stopped around 12. That was the time when husband finished his call and came to bed. I didn't hear any raindrops at that time. Anyways I was half sleeping . Temperature has lowered but it's again sunny and it might increase again. We need some days of continuous rain.
We are facing the wrath of Global warming everywhere. The heat waves in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines are bad and killing people. Temperature above 50 degrees is unbearable and unbelievable but it's happening.

That's nice to hear that the weather has cooled down. Here it's very hot with the temperature going to 43C. The met department had predicted rains but it didn't.

We have been getting some rain daily in the evening in the last three days. And it seems like it might rain again. It has helped a bit. The temperature has come down a bit, but not yet the temperature that Bangalore is supposed to have.
We need more rain for the ongoing water crisis. The rain so far is not enough.
That is pretty hot. And that side, you get humidity too. That makes it worse.

@aninditasen Yes. Bangalore gets water shortage despite good rain too. The geographical condition and not so porous soil is to be blamed. But yes, people are now getting conscious and rain harvesting is promoted. It should show positive results in coming times. Moreover, the city got an unexpected population explosion and unstructured planning being an IT hub. Infrastructure development couldn't keep a pace with it.

We wish we could. Then there would have been no flood, no drought. Nature doesn't obey us. I hope that we realised it earlier and did not do so much to ruin it for our selfish motives.

We had some rain everyday for last three evenings. Weather has cooled down a bit, but not yet like the climate Bangalore is known for. At least, we are not using AC in the last three days. That's a big relief.
We are expecting one of the worst summer here. And also in other countries.

We have got some rain in the evening daily for the last few days. The temperature has come down. We need more rain. This much is not enough for the drought and water crisis going on.
