We went to the big Tesco again this afternoon. I got rid of the soft recycle as usual then went up on the lift. The first thing I did was I got a copy of this months SFX magazine which was a Doctor Who special with a free poster and free art cards. Inside is quite an extensive feature on Doctor Who, mainly talking about the Regency episode, and also an interview with Jinkz Monsoon who played Maestro in the second of last Saturday's episodes The Devil's Chord. I also got a craft box magazine from Indigo Blu which included a stamp set with flowers and a bird, a stencil and some dies which match the stamps. (You can stamp the images with the stamps, then cut them out by layering the die over them and running them through a die cutting machine.) Also included is the magazine which also has papers inside that you pull out and use in your crafting. There are a lot of flower images on there too. I After that I went to get two bottles of water, but they were high up and far back in a chill cabinet so I couldn't reach them. If that happens I usually use my walking stick to hook a bottle of water and inch it forward, so I tried that. But there were bottles sitting horizontally on top and inbetween the vertical bottles, if you know what I mean, which made it virtually impossible to hook a bottle with my walking stick. Fortunately one of the store assistants saw me struggling and came over and asked if he could help. So I told him I wanted 2 of the bottles of water with the blue caps, and he reached them down for me. Then I got 3 (yes, 3) prawn layered salads. One for today for my dinner when I got home, one for tomorrow when I get back from art class and one for Friday when I come back from shopping down town (weather permitting). I said to my Mum, I'm gonna start looking like a prawn layered salad! Next I got some pads for my Mum, and then it was straight to the fruit and veg section. I got the usual stuff, and also a carton of soy milk with no added sugar. My Mum wanted some lettuce but the little gem lettuces that she likes were out of stock, so she got a bag of mixed lettuce instead. After that I went to get my yoghurts. But my favourite flavour, peach, wasn't there, and it looks like they're not doing them anymore because there wasn't even a space for them with a note on saying, sorry, temporarily out of stock! Instead I got some that has two strawberry and banana flavoured ones and two peach and pear flavoured ones. I also got two bottles of milk for my Mum. Then we went to the vegan and ready meals isle. They'd been moving stuff around again, hadn't they? The tofu is now up the other end of the vegan section. Anyway, I got my fridge raiders meat free bites and some scrambled tofu. I also noticed that they had some seitan in. I've never tried it but I've heard of it, so if they've still got it in next week I might try some. Mum got some chilled ready meals that she could keep in the fridge I then went and got some brown rice, tamari soy sauce and some udon noodles, and then I went to get a tin of spring vegetable soup for Syd, but the spring vegetable soup was out of stock so he's had to have plain old vegetable (wether he likes it or not! ) He also wanted cockles () and a Chow Mein flavoured pot noodle, so I got those. Next I went and got a 50/50 loaf (medium sliced) and 6 sliced buns. And then we went to the cakes. My Mum got two sickly sugary creamy jammy doughnut things for her and Syd for their supper. And she's supposed to be cutting down on sugar! She also got a small sharing cake with lots of chocolate on top! We didn't need any pringles today, but we did get some other crisps. I chose Chop Sticks. We haven't had any of those in ages! After that we went to the teas and coffees isle and I went to get some of my usual Pukka Matcha T-bags - but they were out of stock! I decided to get some Tetley Matcha T-bags instead, and they are actually cheaper than the ones I usually get! (But don't tell anyone!) Then I went and got some Love, Corn. Then I went back to where my Mum was. She was getting some chocolate digestives for Syd, but because the packets were so small she decided to get a double pack! After that we headed to the frozen section. I got my vegan magnum ice lollies, and then I got some frozen white onions. Then as we were just about to go round to the other freezer isle who should we see but Nora King? So we stopped to chat to her for a bit. She told my Mum she was looking well. She said, Last time I saw you you were looking really ill! Thanks very much, said my Mum, Thanks for saying last time you saw me I looked like I was at deaths door! She said she hadn't been to Tesco on a Wednesday for a while, and I said, It's a good job you didn't come last week because they had a power cut and we couldn't pay so we had to leave everything behind! Then Nora said she'd come last week, but she'd come later, and the lifts hadn't been working, so she left and went to a Tesco nearer home because she didn't want to go on the tremulator! And Mum said, Oh, the lifts probably weren't working because of the power cut, and she told hee about the fire brigade having to come out to get the person out who was stuck in the lift! When we'd finished talking to Nora we went down the other frozen isle. My Mum said she didn't want to get too much frozen stuff because she was defrosting one of the freezers, but she still got a big box of jacket potatoes and a big bag of chips! I got some more salmon chunks and some more king prawns. Then I got two boxes of gloves (latex free) one for me and one for my Mum, and then we went to pay. Mum stood at the end of the conveyor to stop someone putting their stuff on before we were finished again! Then we packed the groceries. After my Mum had payed for the groceries we went and sat on one of the benches again for a few minutes. Then we went down on the lift. Syd was already there when we got to the undercover car park, so we put the groceries in the boot and went home. When we got home we unpacked the groceries and put them away. My Mum found out she already had four sliced buns so really hadn't needed to get any more! I had my dinner and watched some telly. Then I put the recycle out ready for the recycle bin man tomorrow. My Mum was supposed to be going to the house group tonight, but Frances phoned to say she'd done something to her foot and so she wouldn't be able to take her. Mum thought she wouldn't be going at all, so she went upstairs and was watching Last of the Summer Wine or something with Syd when there was a ring on the doorbell. I went and answered the door and it was Stuart who runs the house group come to fetch my Mum. He said he'd only just heard that Frances couldn't make it. So I told him to come in while I fetched my Mum, but when I got to the door to the stairs my Mum was already there, because she'd seen him arrive through the window. So off they went. While my Mum was out I watched the Doctor Who episode Boom Town with Christopher Eccleston on DVD. What have you lot been getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a great night.

Your dinner plans with prawn layered salads and other treats sound delicious. Thanks for sharing your day with such detail—it's like taking a trip to the store with you!

It's my pleasure. I'm glad you could come. The prawn layered salads are very tasty but I shouldn't really have too many of them!

That sounds like a full day for you. What happens at the outreach committee meeting? Did you have specific things you wanted to get for the food pantry? Did you also get everything that you wanted when you went grocery shopping for yourself? I hope you are well. Have a great night.
