Good meal? Nice clothes? Travel? What else?

I have noticed that people who live in different places enjoy something different. For example, Shanghai people pay attention to the clothes and they tend to buy nice and expensive clothes. Here in Guangzhou, people are much more interested in having nice foods. We don't care about the clothes very much. How about your place?

hmm. In my place it is not that the emphasize is on one thing only to live a 'good' life. it depends on person to person. In my family, living in good way means Good food, good place to live and good clothes- all together.

Hello dear youless. I live in Anji, a small but very modern town close to Hangzhou in just an hour as we have very good traffic road, superhighway and three hours to Shanghai. People here in my town, I think, balance their life. I mean, meals and clothes. Here people, especially young and some fashionable middle-aged pay more attention to those fashionable garments. Also as the local economy is getting more and more advanced, more and more local people choose to travel to those big cities close to the town and quite some choose to travel to some neighbouring countries aound China, like Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and so on. These countries are their first choice...

I haven't been to Anji but I have been to Hangzhou and Shanghai. I found that people in Hangzhou really know how to enjoy their lives. They sit by the lake and enjoy a cup of tea there for a whole day. It is hard for us to imagine it.

Yeah, people in Hangzhou love casual life very much. Each time I go to Hangzhou, my favorite place to visit is the West Lake and I can see many people there enjoying the beauty of the Lake and I also love to visit Yan An Road, which is the business center of the city, good for shopping. I love the commment on CCTV 9, the English channel, saying as always, "Hangzhou is the most beautiful city in China". I take pride in this most beautiful city in China together with its excellent and impressive culture and so many places of interest, where there are numerous visitors from home and abroad. Next time, when you come to visit Hangzhou, do not forget to pay a visit to Anji, the first ecological town in China, with the name Bamboo Town in China. Here we have many scenic spots, like the Great Bamboo Sea. I guess that you must have watched the great movie Hidden Dragon and Crouching Tiger, which won the Oscar prize. Many scenes are taken here in the Great Bamboo Sea. On weekends, people from Hangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou and so on come to visit Anji for its wonderful beautiful scenic spots. I am sure that you will enjoy a lot from travelling to this small and neat town with modern buildings everywhere. Thanks for your further response, dear youless.

People in my place tend to love more relaxing life. Other than people having busy life in one or two big cities, we seldom see people here rushing in the public, like streets or pavements. It is not so good to work under great tension. My town is a nice place for people who prefer peaceful life with less competition though not so favorable for the young and ambitious generation.

I live in a semi-urban province, since we also have rapid developments here. Which I think all of them are important, the options you have would be great. If you get tired of something, then you go for the other interest you like to do. Foods, clothings and travelling are the most I love. Having hobbies that spices up my life are great as well, like playing games that will help develop my body, mind and health.

We like good meals, although not as much since the baby, and healthy foods (more expensive) is important to me. We do like to travel and will always budget that in. I like nice soft pretty clothes and get them inexpensively at thrift stores. I see no reason to spend a lot on 'up to the minute' clohtes you throw away when out of season. I think its much more important to make sure bills are paid off and money saved to buy an energy efficient house built with safe, toxin free, recycled materials.

People in our country (India) are much bent towards fashion. Earlier we used to lie on food but a sudden "Trend of the West" started in the country which made people to think more of their outer fitness.

I think, here in Kerala, we are particular about how we dress.. I am not talking about costly dressing, but generally people are neatly dressed. Shabbiness is something which is looked down upon. and even the less privilaged section of the society takes care to look their best when out of their homes. Spending extravagantly on food is something restricted to the extremely rich people, where as simple kerala food is prefered by many. Rice and it's varieties form the staple diet of the malayalees.
