At what age did your cat go first in heat?

It seems like kittens are going earlier and earlier in heat. I have owned cats all my life and they went in heat at least after 6 months, but my almost 5 month old kitten just went in heat two days before her spay surgery! I wonder if the fact that now I live in Arizona may have an effect on the heat cycle with more light, longer days and warmer weather.

iv'e had a lot of cats in my life and every time i turned around they were in heat, seems like the warmer the climate the more frequent they are in heat, especially in the spring and fall
