Hello everyone I have a question about bruises. on September 12 2008 I was attacked on my way home from a bar(not going to go in to to many details),the guy slammed my back in to a climbing toy at a play ground and ever since then I have a permanent bruise the color is very slight but from time to time the pain flairs up and hurts very badly. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar type of bruise and if there is anything I can do to make it go away?

I know it'll be tough, since its on your back, but what you may have is a deep seated hematoma and you could try heat to see if you can get it to break up. I had one after a blood donation, not years, but months after it happened and that's what they recommended.

They told me a hot compress, but I used a heating pad - like you need an excuse to lay down for a bit?

Did you get checked out at the hospital after you were attacked? I am asking because I was wondering if they may be something damaged internally that keeps causing a flare up. If you have not had it checked out I would suggest a trip to your doctor and they may be able to help you out better than I can.

No I never had it checked out at the time because I figured it was just a bruise and would go away :( but I have been thinking about talking to my doctor about it at my next check up

Hi, Ruby_Dawn. So you have a bruise on your back? No. I don't have one. I may have marks and spots on my back from the chicken pox many years ago. You should buy some fading cream. And if you are having recurring pain, it is best to get into contact with a doctor so that they can take a look at it. They can determine if their is something much worse than it already is.

A bruise is also called a contusion (say: kun-too-zhun), and it forms because the soft tissues of your body have been bumped. Some people bruise easily, whereas others may have tougher skin tissue. Now burises that wont go away could be casued by alot of thing. But, I would defently go see a doctor about it. It could be something serious, or it could be something that is not. But, really why take that chance. A bruise that wont go away is a sign of alot of things. So get it checked out asap!
