Gaga: love her or hate her

I have a theory that we are all biased to pop stars; we will only love the ones we are affected by while we grew up and reject new ones once we hit a certain age. For example: an older generation would love Tina Turner, and hate Beyonce, saying things like "Beyonce couldn't shake a stick at Tina Turner!" People seem to be extremely polarized about Lady Gaga, and those who don't like her often take her for face-value (which in my opinion is the result of the mind-numbing ways of modern life we all partake in). I know there's always going to be haters, but everyone should know what they're acusing someone of before they open their mouths. Lady Gaga is not on the same level as any other Barbie-faced pop star. She may wear totally crazy outfits sometimes but it's not because she's looking for attention. Her sense of style is an artform; everything she wears has meaning (for example, that Kermit-doll dress and the hello kitty-doll dress she wore were a comments on wearing fur). Aside from that Lady Gaga actually writes her own songs, and even songs for other people. She originally wrote "Telephone" for Britney Spears. Love it or hate it she's the Madonna of the 2000's.

If Lady G is the "Madonna of the 2000's" then who is Madonna??? She's still alive and kicking and singing and dancing up a storm. You cannot seriously compare these two brilliant entertainers and find them similar. As for your theory regarding Tina Turner and Beyonce...what rot. I love Tina Turner (yes, still) and I'm thrilled with Beyonce. If you'd said Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson I could understand but people who grew up in the sixties and seventies have a marvellous appreciation of the singers of their own era as well as current chart toppers. Indeed, many of the single artists and bands from our era are still going strong.

Gaga is unique and I like her style very much. I adore many of her songs and I like to watch her videos, even if they are a bit strange and scary sometimes... As long as she is making new awesome songs and videos I will listen to her music. I think Gaga is the best now. Madonna may be retired now. Her innovative style and her charisma could guarantee her nice position in the music...

I like some Lady Gage music, but I hate her as a person. Her annoying attention seeking gimmick and pseudo-philisophical attitude are just straight annoying.

I love her and I hate her. I love her because she is outstanding. She is unique and very demanding in radio stations and music videos. She is actually a great artist who found her own style and own unique way of persuading the public. On the other hand, I hate her not because I wanted to give a negative feedback. I hate her because she is very competitive. A lot of artist that just started their stardom were overpowered by Lady Gaga. In all music charts, Lady Gaga has the most number of songs in the Top 100, Top 10 and so on. I hate her because she is just the best. I hope to follow her success. She is a great artist. High Five.

I agree that that as people get older they don't like what's new and they'll tend to stick to their stars from their generation but people have to move on. Sure, those artists were great when they were famous but NOW it's different. I like Lady Gaga's music and I have her two newest albums and I reckon she's pretty awesome ^_^

I've seen Gaga do television interviews and I think she's a bit of clown, and came across that she had the personality of a house brick. However for some reason I love her music, every song she does is better than her previous one, I love 'pokerface' but 'telephone'is on a different level(not sure about the video though) my wife keeps saying that she's going to go out and buy me her album

I'm not real familiar with the artist but I certainly don't hate her. That's a sure sign that one is growing old, when they pass judgment on someone without giving their product a chance. I'm open to new music--so much of it is crap but what I've seen of Lady Gaga tells me I would like some of her work. Vocalists these days are trying so hard to be different that they actually become un-musical. Their long, drawn out notes and caterwauling ruin their songs, their desperate ululations are ridiculous. That doesn't mean they are not talented but just that they have not honed their craft.

people have their own opinion on how to look at celebrities. some loves them and some hates them. but for me its their intelligence in music that counts. i am not a fan of them but when you hear how intelligent they are on how they make their own songs and music... then it amazed me. the style is just a part of their self expression. its how they want to get attention and it is working.

I love Lady Gaga and I'm in my fifty. I also love Tina Turner. As for Beyonce she is ok. I wouldn't go to see her in concert but I would go to see Lady Gaga and Tina. Lady Gaga is a very intelligent, creative talented person/performer. Lady Gaga is in a totally different categorie way above a Britney or a Hillary Duff. In fact I think she is even better then Madonna ever was in her day. Of course this is my opinion.

Hearing Gaga's music would make me entertained a lot. She has the style to let her listener to love her easily most especially to those people who are wild and very liberated. Many love her and I am one of them. What makes her very unique is that she is the one making her song. And that is good to note she is making every possible ways to make her fans became super starstruck to her and that is awesome!

looooove GaGa, you have to admit it though, she is a musical genius. She writes all her own stuff and boy can she dance! Besides that I love her bold sense of style, she has no interest in looking like everyone else. For me she's an inspiration because she went to an art school and i'm going to one too. She's a role model.

I like Lady Gaga's song.they're catchy and has a lot of meaning on them.I do respect her sense of style.hey,if wearing a deer antler is comfortable for her, then let her do her own thing.I admire how she expresses herself thru her songs and fashion choices.she goes for what makes her happy, and is shameless about it.

I like her. She's sexy and unique. Her music videos and live performances different and stands out from others like that live performance she did with elton john. I guess that's why i noticed her.

I completely agree. I think Lady GaGa is a musical genius and the people who claim that she is just another mindless popstar pumping out meaningless songs don't get her songs. She is analyzing and criticizing pop music/mainstream/fame through the use of pop music. She's not afraid to push the boundaries and try new things out. I absolutely love her and everything that she does. Not only that, but she actually sings live despite dancing during her performances. A lot of popstars lipsync and claim it's because it's hard to sing live while dancing. Lady GaGa does it.

I agree also. I like Lady Gaga because to me she is real. She doesn't seem to care what anyone thinks about her and still continues to put out great music. I love her music and style. I wish her much sucess in all her future endeavours. So many people miss the message because they are so concerned with appearance.
