Are you having Christmas dinner at home or out? With family or alone. Give me some ideas of your Christmas menu! Merry Christmas

On Christmas Eve, I celebrate with my Mom's side of the family. Everyone brings an appetizer or two to share. We end up with a variety of foods and can graze whenver we want. It is very casual. I celebrate with my Dad's side of the family on Christmas Day. In previous years, we have gone to my Grandpa's house for a nice ham or beef dinner, but it was still pretty casual. This is the first year without my Grandpa on my Dad's side, so it is still up in the air on what we are going to do.

We're traditionalists, I guess. The family will gather at Grandma's house (that's me) and we'll have turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, a corn souffle from my daughter in law, a vegetable platter from my daughter, black and green olives, stuffed celery and cranberry sauce. I think that's all unless someone thinks of something else they want to bring. For dessert, we'll have special cookies brought by my daughter in law, pumpkin pie, maybe cherry pie and my daughter hasn't decided what yet, but she will bring a dessert, too. And we'll be stuffed and tired and happy and sit around all afternoon, not having the energy to do anything else!

I have decided on the following: pizza pasta and Max-style fried chicken. My relatives and I usually do potluck for Christmas so that we won't spend much and everybody gets to gather and share the Christmas midnight dinner.

Christmas in a family holiday for my house. We all gather together those days, we have dinner and exchange Christmas gifts! I still haven't planned the subject of our dinner this year. We usually have turkey but we had a different idea for the end of 2011. We though we should make a subject for the dinner and decorate everything according to this subject. The food should also be inspired from this, or we might cook the same food as we always do and change the names of the dishes! We still have some time to figure out the theme, but I think that eventually it will be fun!
