I Think This Would Be Beyond Stressful

My youngest daughter lives in St. Pete, Florida. She works in the All Children's Hospital there, a huge place for sure. She had taken some days off yesterday and today, and hopefully Friday, to clean up their yard and the tree and cope with the water and her little boys, but that was not to be, after all. They called her in and she will be working a double shift for several days at least. Ft. Myers, Florida is in a huge mess, as you probably have seen or read about. The children's hospital there has over 4 feet of water in their ER, and they are evacuating and life flighting ALL of their NICU babies to St. Pete's children's hospital. This gave me some thoughts of how hard it would be for the parents of these little sick babies. Not only is your child critical, but now you have to go to another city, drive through a mess, and cope with that as well. What a terrible mess they have down there. I am simply thankful my own Florida family is OK.

That is really sad. It is going to be touch and go for awhile I am afraid.

So much is destroyed. Some now have nothing at all.

Glad to hear your family is OK, Yes, they sure have a mess on their hands so I have put everyone in my prayers. We got so lucky in Daytona Beach just three hours away with heavy winds and rain but lost no power, I thanked the Lord for that,

Those poor parents having to deal with so much more due to the hurricane. Its angels like your daughter who work round-the-clock to keep things running smoothly. Happy that your Florida family are all ok

@Marilynda1225 We know we did the best we could to raise them to be decent, caring people. That's all a person can really do is try.

My uncle used to live in Ft. Myers. I'm sorry for everyone down there.

@sallypup That causeway is the only way to get to the islands in a car. The road is partly gone now. So that means everything both islands need, and all of their residents, will have to be brought by boat or maybe helicopter. No other way to get supplies, and many residents stayed and did not evacuate.

It’s such a nice area. I have always enjoyed Sanibel and Captiva. Now they can’t leave those two islands as the concrete bridge is badly damaged.

Not only stressed from having a baby in the NICU, but then to have to get in the car and drive through the mess of a hurricane would be simply miserable.
