10th November 23 was called Dhanteras in India. On this day people buy utensils and jewelry which is believed to bring health and wealth into our lives. I did want to buy some jewelry but couldn't make it so I purchased an "appe pan". We are supposed to inaugurate the utensil on Diwali that signifies health. I made the " aloo kachori" in my " appe pan" for breakfast. Hope it brings good health and wealth to all of us.

Dhanteras is no God, " dhan" means wealth and "teras" means an auspicious occasion/day. On the whole using wealth to buy something that would bring health and wealth to the family, country and the whole of humanity.

@dgobucks226 What is Bing chat? Yes, if we use wealth judiciously we'll always be happy.

@aninditasen Thanks for the correction. I will have to pass that correction onto Bing Chat, lol. A nice use of wealth.

It's a very prevalent custom in India. Utensils are connected to food and good food keeps us healthy. That's what we pray for.

It’s a nice looking pan. I’ve never seen an apple pan before.

It's available only in India. Earlier it was available only in South India but now branded companies like Hawkins are manufacturing it.
