Thanks, the dog was Gracie and her kitty was Spunky, together they raised another dog, Sophie.

Yes, I brought Spunky home when he was 5 weeks old and Gracie was like a mother to him.

@rebelann I was only ten in 1967. But I educated myself the best I could on the music from the 50s and 60s, I like a vast variety of oldies even today they are my favorites,

It was different in El Paso, most teens around here were more into the late 1950s stuff except for the Army brats like me ...... besides, deserts only have itsy bitsy type flowers so it's pointless to make wreaths or what ever with them and those cacti flowers didn't hold up too well if ya coulda picked em, them thorns on those cacti made it uncomfortable. Them old fogies with the pretty flowerbeds wouldn't let us pick their flowers
