Fountain or aquatic sculpture? Both are correct. Check my video.

I met some IYF students at the camp today who called it fountain. Most of you voted "fountain" in the other discussion. I noticed it had pipes at the center for sprinkling water and so it qualifies to be called a fountain. Only one mentioned aquatic sculpture and I googled the photos and it fits the description too. The carvings at the center makes it qualify. So both are correct. Here is the link to the video I uploaded to my YouTube channel. I recorded this yesterday with my phone.

We call fountains (fontane) also those without sprinklers, but most fountains have sprinklers.

@mildredtabitha A pool is only something where you can swim.

I'm glad to learn a new word. "Fontane" I think I have been calling those without sprinklers a pool. But I clearly know a swimming pool.

It sounds like the crowd there is having a good time! Is English the primary language there? Sound to be African speakers speaking their native tongue

@mildredtabitha Oh OK..just curious I remember one time I took a class here and the professor was a Chinese woman with an Australian accent..but I guess in today's mobile world, people can be anywhere.

@snowy22315 One day I went to the post office and the postman was just collecting the mail. He wasn't our usual postman (I guess he must have been on holiday or something) and the new man looked like a Somali, but when he spoke he gave me a bit of a surprise with a strong Glaswegian accent! Made me smile!

Yes. Many are speaking English and Swahili. I speak both. We have south Koreans too who speak some English. The main speaker at the event is south Korean from Benin.

@RebeccasFarm I'm so glad you liked the dance video. There were cultural dancers and there were dancers from south Korea who study in mahanaim international high school in my town.

Looks like a nice place! I thought an aquatic sculpture had to be entirely made of water, like an ice sculpture.

I really didn't know that. But I think you are right. So it's a fountain
