Finger Painting

Do you remember finger painting when you were in elementary school? If so, do you remember how it felt to stick your fingers in that ooey gooey paint and rub it all over the paper? I do. That is the feeling I love so much about acrylic painting. I use brushes and other tools, but sometimes I use my fingers. Painting is therapeutic. I believe all kinds of art are therapeutic. Sometimes I just want to paint, just to feel better. I have depression and sometimes it is more difficult to deal with. The thing is, the thing that can make me feel better is also something that takes effort. Then the depression makes you not want to make that effort. In my case, my space in my apartment makes keeping a specific uncluttered spot to have the paints and whatever surface I am using free and clear of any piled-on clutter. This is one of the reasons I am hopefully getting to move into my own house soon. Right now I want to paint. I have everything within arm's reach. But it is piled down with other things, like mail and other stuff. So, okay, just move the stuff. But I have no place to move the stuff to. So I am not going to paint. When I move, having a space that is just dedicated to my art is a very important thing to me. I want to be able to just get up and go into my art studio and do whatever kind of art I want to do. I do keep sketchbooks and colored pencils right beside my recliner so I can do that at any time unimpeded. But when I go into that art studio, I want to get messy with paint when I am feeling depressed. Maybe even finger paint. Did you finger paint as a child? Do you like to paint with brushes and other tools? If so, what kind of art do you paint? I do mostly abstract. Details in realistic painting is just too much for me.

I have lots of paints and stuff but have not used them for around three years. Like you I have a cluttered space. I do not remember ever finger painting as a child. I love helping come up with creative ideas for school, though.

It's never too late to start using those art supplies.

I'm not really fussed about getting my fingers messy with paint. But it's good we're all different, isn't it?

I loved all kinds of arts and crafts as a kid. I don't know how I ever managed it, but I was always the one covered in glitter. I also loved anything I could touch. so finger paints were fun.

I don't remember ever finger painting. I remember being obsessed with coloring between the lines in kindergarten. I am horrible at any type of art. I hope you are able to set up an art studio in your new home. Try and have a good day.
