It Really Is a Small World

I am still looking for a house and there is one I really like. I've talked to the realtor who is a lady who lives in another town from me and from where the house is which is also in another town from me. She told me she could pick me up to go see the house whenever I wanted to go because she comes to my town often to visit her mom. Well, last night I got to thinking about her first name and that I only ever knew one person with her first name. Then I remembered her mom lived here in my town. We all met when our kids were in school together at yet another town in between the two towns where I live now and where the house is that I am looking at. Are we all confused now? So, as I was thinking about the one person I knew with that first name, I started asking myself, is it possible? Could this be that person? I mean she would be in her 40s now and not a child anymore. I had not seen her since she was a child. I had seen her mom maybe 15 years ago or more. I decided to message her and ask if her mom's first name was the name I thought it was, and she said yes. She was, indeed, that little girl from the past. We had a nice email conversation catching up. Does this ever happen to you that you run into people from your past but in different locations from where you originally knew them from?

I don't really call it having known for awhile. More like known from the long ago past and now once again. But not really that known. For me, considering someone having been known for awhile means that we have been in touch over that time. In this case, there has been no connection since she was a child and her mother and I were friends back then as she and her sister were in the same classes as my two kids.

It's a small world, isn't it? Yes, my husband ran into a couple at the rehab facility that we knew about 30 years ago. Have a good day.

It happens to me from time to time too. We went to look at a barbecue and the woman turned out to be my sister's best friend right through high school.
