In sad news, I found out the woman who wrote Shopaholic series of books Sophie Kinsella has been diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. She is such a sweet, cute and funny person. She always said through her character Becky Bloom, I can't resist sharing good news. It makes me happy to brighten someone's day. I am so sorry to hear this news. She isn't very old,and I believe she has 4 younger children Don't quote me on it..but I think I read that. Pls. Say a prayer for Sophie (Madeline)or keep her in your thoughts

Yes, I saw it on her fan page. It doesn't sound good unfortunately.

@LadyDuck When my cousin passed I think her kids were 22, 18 and 11. All the kids were devastated of course, but the 18 year old was a very young woman and absolutely crushed to lose her mother..

Thanks, I am quite certain she and her family need the prayers. Although it probably wouldn't be your bag, you should try reading Confessions of a Shopaholic sometime. It is guaranteed to have you in stitches. It is as funny as Brigitte Jones's Diary, another hysterical read.

@snowy22315 Thanks for the heads up. No, not my reading genre. Though I might give it a try.

I have read many of her books, I wish her well and that the doctors can help her to get better and continue to write her funny books!

Unfortunately, it is fatal..no known survivors..but sometimes people live longer than expected with it. One guy I saw online looks quite well, and he has had it for six years. I guess if she can survive long enough for more treatments to be found..it will be good.

That is so sad. I will pray for her for sure. I love every book I have read by her. I love her Shopaholic series. I reread the Christmas-themed Shopaholic book last Christmas, loved it, and laughed so much!

I know the first Shopaholic book had me laughing my head off. They were all good though. I haven't read any of the other series she wrote

@snowy22315 I loved all the Shopaholic books. Shopaholic Christmas was the second time I read it and I loved it even more!
Now I have to get a Shopaholic or a standalone book by her at the library when I go next week.
