The arrival of Mario. Saturday.

He installed my wall bedroom lamps (I will have to put bigger bulbs though), checked again sound of water in the upstairs bathrooms and cleaned an outdoor lam that was full of dead moths. I paid him in advance and will get up soon to cook for him and for his son. I will eat leftovers because my fridge is full of small pots and Tupperware containers. Violence is part of everyday life here now. Three cops were burned to death in the south of Chile by terrorists that say they fight for Natives. It is not true. They have giant weapons and are into drugs and international mobs. See you later.

I know that I´m right when I don´t dare go out of my house alone. A few weeks ago my neighbor´s house was burglarized. Now they have put eletric wire on top of a very high fence. It seems that we are in jail instead of the bad guys.

@marguicha We wouldn't be allowed to put an electric wire round our houses but that's what is needed.

Glad you have someone doing some things for you. Things in Chile sound horrible. Be safe.

That's terrible news about the policemen. What is this world coming to? I'm glad Mario got some work done for you.

I am glad that they came to fix some things for you. You are right that violence is often a part of everyday life, no matter whether we try to not hear about it or not--it often just hits too close, and it's truly frightening. My family has a habit of saying to each other upon parting ''Be Safe!'' About two weeks ago, my oldest son was here on the way to a business trip in Chicago. I did my hug and said that and he said--''Mom...we still say it and we mean it, but no one is truly safe anymore, even if they think they are. There are just too many violent people.'' He is sadly right. I hope you rest well.
