Can you always tell a bad toupee from bad natural hair?

I admit I am not very good at spotting toupees, but some things just don't look natural and may not follow the hairline. There is a guy now on TV that I keep thinking is wearing a toupee..it is either that or a bad dye job. Any tips for spotting a toupee? Not that it matters, but I don't want to be the only one who can't spot rugs..

I used to work with a guy who had the worst toupee. It didn't look real and you could tell immediately that it was fake. With bald being so popular these days I always wondered why he just didn't ditch the toupee.

I think the only thing that really looks natural is a hair weave. My ex has that and it looks very natural. Well, I guess regrowing your own hair would be the best..but weaves are pretty good.

I saw a guy on TV being interviewed that seemed to be wearing a pretty obvious toupee. but in these days of crazy hair styles..who really knows for sure?

One fella in town, wore a heavy gray mop on his head. All the other hair around his head was thinning also:) It didn't look natural! We watched a movie, this man's toupee was real thick and it stood up like a rooster's comb! When he announced that it wasn't his real hair, no one was surprised! lol It looked fake!

Yes, to me the toupee on TV looked obvious, but since I am not good at telling the difference..not totally sure, but it sure didn't look natural.

@snowy22315 Some of the new hairstyles, it's hard to tell. The hair on top is long and quite often, combed up and forward, like a rooster. Most generally, it's an unnaturally bright color(red, blue, green, purple, yellow). And the rest of his head is shaved!

It is usually a guy, who hasn't got a clue. Of course, I have enough unfortunate hair events, I guess you can't say for sure.
