Teachers are not respected in the schools

I am teaching this year in two different schools. One of them keeps asking for extra hours and doesn't offer to pay for teacher's meetings and extra actvitivies. I am upset about this because when I am not at a school, I am working on line, and all these extra hours are taking away my real income! This month the school wants 15 extra hours from me!! Is this like this in your country too?

That is not right or fair to you! I believe most teachers here in the States are paid on a salary, so the extra time would not be extra pay here either.

NO, if they ask extra hours in this country they have to pay for those extra hours.

@lifecoachjerusalem If they want your time, they must pay for your time.

I am sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. In some places, it is unfortunately common for schools to ask extra unpaid hours or not compensate for additional work like meetings and activities. It can be really frustrating, especially when it impacts your overall income. Have you tried discussing this with the school or negotiating a fair compensation for the extra hours?

No, I am not in the Teacher's Union so it is useless to speak to them at all.

That is not right at all. Will they get mad if you tell them no.

I worked in many private schools. They were unjust in paying their teachers .

I see, this is a state school, but it is expected that they will not pay for extra hours. . . After I cancelled the other classses, THEN the supervisor wrote to me that I DON'T have to come on the extra day. I'll go.

it is okay, i guess, if it is over 30minutes but this what you are saying, it should be paid.
