Day 111 – Offering Leviticus 22:1 Then JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they do not profane My holy name by what they dedicate to Me; I am JEHOVAH. 3 “Say to them, ‘Whoever of your descendants throughout your generations, who goes near the holy things which the children of Israel dedicate to JEHOVAH, while he has uncleanness upon him, will be cut off from My presence; I am JEHOVAH. 4 ‘Whatever man of the descendants of Aaron, who is a leper or has a discharge, will not eat the holy offerings until he is clean. Whoever touches anything made unclean by a corpse, or a man who has had an emission of semen, 5 or whoever touches any creeping thing by which he would be made unclean, or any person by whom he would become unclean, whatever his uncleanness may be— 6 the person who touched any such thing will be unclean until evening, and will not eat the holy offerings unless he washes his body with water. 7 When the sun goes down, he will be clean; and afterward he may eat the holy offerings, because it is his food. 8 ‘Whatever dies naturally or is torn by beasts he will not eat, to defile himself with it; I am JEHOVAH. 9 ‘They will, therefore, keep My ordinance, lest they bear sin for it and die thereby, if they profane it; I JEHOVAH sanctify them. 10 ‘No outsider will eat the holy offering; one who dwells with the priest, or a hired servant, will not eat the holy thing. 11 But if the priest buys a person with his money, he may eat it; and one who is born in his house may eat his food. 12 If the priest’s daughter is married to an outsider, she may not eat of the holy offerings. 13 But if the priest’s daughter is a widow or divorced, and has no child, and has returned to her father’s house as in her youth, she may eat her father’s food; but no outsider will eat it. 14 ‘And if a man eats the holy offering unintentionally, then he will restore a holy offering to the priest and add one-fifth to it. 15 They will not profane the holy offerings of the children of Israel, which they offer to JEHOVAH, 16 or allow them to bear the guilt of trespass when they eat their holy offerings; for I JEHOVAH sanctify them.’” 17 JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 18 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, and to the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘Whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, who offers his sacrifice for any of his vows or for any of his freewill offerings, which they offer to JEHOVAH as a burnt offering— 19 you will offer of your free will a male without blemish from the cattle, from the sheep, or from the goats. 20 Whatever has a defect, you will not offer, for it will not be acceptable on your behalf. 21 Whoever offers a sacrifice of a peace offering to JEHOVAH, to fulfill his vow, or a freewill offering from the cattle or the sheep, it must be perfect to be accepted; there will be no defect in it. 22 Those that are blind or broken or maimed, or have an ulcer or eczema or scabs, you will not offer to JEHOVAH, nor make an offering by fire of them on the altar to JEHOVAH. 23 Either a bull or a lamb that has any limb too long or too short you may offer as a freewill offering, but for a vow it will not be accepted. 24 You will not offer to JEHOVAH what is bruised, crushed, torn, or cut; nor will you make any offering of them in your land. 25 Nor from a foreigner’s hand will you offer any of these as the bread of your Elohiym, because their corruption and defects are in them. They will not be accepted on your behalf.’” 26 JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 27 “When a bull or a sheep or a goat is born, it will be seven days with its mother; and from the eighth day and thereafter it will be accepted as an offering made by fire to JEHOVAH. 28 Whether it is a cow or ewe, do not kill both her and her young on the same day. 29 “And when you offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to JEHOVAH, offer it of your own free will. 30 On the same day it will be eaten; you will leave none of it until morning; I am JEHOVAH. 31 Therefore, you will keep My commandments and perform them: I am JEHOVAH. 32 “You will not profane My holy name, but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel. I am JEHOVAH who sanctifies you, 33 who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your Elohiym; I am JEHOVAH.” God’s name: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Elohiym – Mighty God Yeshuwa – Jesus Iesous – Jesus – Greek God’s character: Holy When people give to charity organizations, many give their cast-offs, things that should be thrown away rather than given to people looking for a good bargain. Not everyone does this as you can find many nice things in a charity shop. People think they can give whatever they want and the people who run the organization will accept their offering. Such is not the case. If your cast off isn’t worthy of being re-homed, they will discard it. JEHOVAH told Moses who could make an offering before Him, and what would cause the person not to come before Him with their offering. He also told him what kind of offering He would accept from the priest’s hand. Only a free-will offering could have a blemish, but for a vow, peace, thanksgiving, or sin offering, they needed to give a perfect offering. When you give your offering or tithe to Elohiym, how do you offer it? Is it your first fruit given to Him before you pay your bills and other obligations, including those things you want? Or is your offering whatever is left over, and you think it’s good enough for Elohiym? JEHOVAH gave His best offering to you when He sacrificed His Son, Yeshuwa, on the cross for your salvation. He expects your best sacrifice when you give. When you do, He will bless you. Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” Malachi 3:8 “Will a man rob Elohiym? Yet you robbed Me! You say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse, for you robbed Me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says JEHOVAH of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. 11 I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor will the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” says JEHOVAH of hosts; 12 All nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,” says JEHOVAH of hosts. JEHOVAH looks for ways to bless you. When you give Him your best, you will see His blessings in your life. So will other people, especially those who give a token offering and wonder why they don’t have the same blessings. Mark 12:41 Now Iesous sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. Many who were rich put in much. 42 Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. 43 He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; 44 for they put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in everything she had, her whole livelihood.” Those who gave out of their abundance, didn’t receive the same blessings as the poor widow who gave everything she had. Elohiym gave His best, He expects no less than your best sacrifice when you give to Him. He is a holy Elohiym and deserving of your best offering. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for giving Your best sacrifice for me. Help me to give my best sacrifice to you so that I will receive Your blessings in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Making sacrifices helps to keep us connected to God, as we build a generous heart within us, when we give to others, and give back to God too.
