Going to be an interesting summer apparently

Yesterday a brochure arrived in the mail from a tour company. I read through it and one tour stuck in my craw: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. That glorious city used to be our second home. I re-read the ad and thought about it and finally said something to hubby. He chewed it over and between us: YES. The tour folks would get us to the ferry- around a couple of hours from our house- and would get us to the hotel, breakfast included. We would get a free day to wander downtown Victoria. And tea in one of its seaside villages. And the Stonehenge exhibit at their fabulous museum. And the Buchart gardens. Glorious. Totally relaxing for me, not having to drive all that distance to the ferry and then drive in that large city's traffic. Sure a dream and worth every penny. The main downtown touristy shop street runs uphill about a mile. I told hubby that we could book a cab and have it take us to the top then we'd walk back down. And even just sitting on a bench by the harbor would be fantastic. And then there is pub chowder. And on we go. The tour bus would pick us up the morning after hubby's birthday, June 16th. Grand way to celebrate his 70th birthday.

@celticeagle Tons of memories there for us. We've enjoyed ghost walks there at Halloween.

Oh that would be a fun day. My parents went to Victoria one time. I think it may have been a stop on an Alaskan cruise..not sure will have to ask..I have relatives in Salem and Portland though..could have been related to that trip, but don't think so

@Juliaacv I love tour companies!! All the horrid details will be removed- no booking the ferry, no drive to the ferry town, no big city driving, no booking a hotel.

@RasmaSandra Thanks. I'm grateful we found a super nice babysitter for the fur kids, too. We couldn't go without her.

I went there on the cruise in 2022. I want to go back when not at the ship's time table.
