If you could start your own social media site, how would it differ from the others?

Here’s what I would do. (I have 20 mins to kill before cake is ready to come out of the oven, and I’m trying to up my discussion count before I take off.) My site would be called something like MyPhotoAlbum . com All you’d have to do is keep adding photos to your page. You could add descriptions if you’d like, but there would be NO LIKES allowed and NO COMMENTS from other members. Just a public photo album, with tags. That way, people could simply enjoy posting things to their albums and looking at other albums without running around like a wild goose trying to Like & Comment on other people’s stuff just so they could get the Likes and Comments back. There just wouldn’t be any. Many of my current jobs have been Liking, Retweeting, Sharing, etc. people’s posts.. they are actually paying me to do it. Hey, no complaints here.. I’m the one earning money. I just find it hard to believe that someone would go to such great lengths just to get that thumbs up under their posts. Isn’t it supposed to be… fun? Now you’re paying people for a Like or Comment or whatever. This isn’t good. As for my site, (pretend site) you could still add friends and talk thru private messages, but other than that.. nothing. Just posting your own photos and looking at others’ ..but no interactions under the pics. I think that would be pretty cool. And different. How would you do it?

That takes the social out of social media. Posting something online is meant to be liked and coomented on. It's how we have all the wonderful things we do.

I like your idea. Although, undoubtedly, people will find something to complain about with that too. Maybe I’d make a site where one could only complain so many times before having to take a month break. I complain just like others, but boy, some people are so negative I can’t fathom how they get by.

I know exactly what you mean. Oh, or it could be a double-duo site. One side for photos and albums, and the other side could just be called RANT. Or VENT. And people could post status updates all day and night, just yelling about stuff 24/7 Thanks Amber x

@Melanie_Marie It would be fun to discuss the show with other audiences right after we finish the episode or movie.

The idea is great but it would make it a sharing site not a social site which would not be too bad, I remember some sites where the idea was to share photos but to also like and comment and that was not such a bad deal,
