Do you have a favorite rock 'n roll band? I do, and I submit my evidence.

Many of us are a bit "older." But that means we grew up in the "golden age" of rock music. We could choose between bands like the Allman Brothers, Jethro Tull, Lynard Skynard, Yes, ELP, The Eagles, and many others. Some of us are interested in evidence being presented in this trial and that right now. I submit a good rendition of "Deal" as evidence that the Grateful Dead is the best rock 'n roll band of the last fifty years. Yes, there was Dire Straits and REM in the '80s, and Nirvana and Soundgarden in the '90s. After that, my life is a blur. Do you have a favorite rock band? Can you present evidence in support of that band? I still believe that the Grateful Deal is the best rock band in history. But my lawyers will consider Jethro Tull, Little Feat, Cream, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and a small handful of others.

I never listened to any of those bands. I've heard of most of them, but I admit there are a couple on your list I've never heard of. I'm surprised Rolling Stones didn't get a mention. No, I didn't listen to them either. I liked Herman's Hermits and had a couple of their albums as a teenager. Otherwise, I was strictly an Elvis fan.

This may turn out to be an interesting comment, I'm trying to enter it with a rather large irritated ginger tabby on my lap (Petey). He doesn't like sharing me with the computer. Anyhow, I wondered if anyone was going to mention Herman's Hermits...The Dave Clark 5, Paul Revere and the Raiders... if I didn't have my normal first-thing-in-the-morning-headache I could think of more. There was even one group that had a TV show, I think it might have been Paul Revere and the Raiders. When the music went from being able to sing along to screaming into the microphone I switched to country music. (Flushed from the Bathroom of your heart by Johnny Cash!)

I was not a fan of the Rolling Stones. My parents had knew of Elvis, but weren't into his music. I think he had a good voice, but didn't sing "my kind" of music.

@BearArtistLady Country music was one of my naughty pleasures during Summers in Montana. There are some Country songs I really like, but it was never that much on my overall radar.

I love more the musics of the 60s and early 70s. The Eagle is a good band. I liked the Beach Boys, the Beatles, The Rolling Stones and some Italians that you surely do not know.

@TheHorse Edith Piaf incredible French singer, she was a Parisian and you could clearly notice her Parisian accent. I posted a photo of a radio I mentioned where you asked.

My parents Listened to a lady named Edith Piaf, I think. I don't know where she was from, but they listened to her a lot when we lived in Italy. That was way before my rock 'n roll days. The early Eagles were a good band. I didn't care for them after they got Joe Walsh. Too "commercial."

@LadyDuck Ah, thanks! I will look for the picture. I'll probably be able to "date" it approximately. Warning: I may tease you and tell you its worth $300,000.00. Maybe I can trick Vanny into believing me.

The eagles were good. AC DC was a favorite when I was growing up. I enjoyed Meatloaf a lot too

I was never Into AC/DC. Too much screaming. But Meatloaf was funny. I was just talking with my Guitar Center co-workers about him yesterday.

This is a moot conversation because I was born in an entirely different era. I love the music of the 60s and 70s.. The Eagles - yes! Other than that, I'm not familiar with the music of the bands you mentioned...I only know the names. Have a great day.

Dang! Or Boy Howdy! You must be even older than I am! Are you sure you're fit to be president? I just read that Diaper Don and Slow Joe are going to have a debate or two. That should be interesting. I submitted your name (along with Scar and Kitty) to be in the debate(s) but haven't heard back yet from the organizers.

@TheHorse Yes, I'm old enough to be your mother probably. If Trump doesn't back out of the debates I will HAVE to watch them. They will be very entertaining.

@TheHorse I listen to all kinds of music except rock and classical music. So I can't say that I prefer only one type of music.

Apart from the Allman brothers (never heard of them) I like all the others. But I wouldn't really have thought of any of them as 'rock'n'roll', except perhaps some of Dire Straits. I guess I never really understood any of the ways music is classified into certain categories. Rock'n'roll makes me think of things li8ke this

A silly and fun song. I just watched. Rock 'n roll covers a lot of territory, from Chuck Berry to Elvis to Jethro Tull to Dire Straits...
