Wife Will Fly Tuesday & Daughter Attracted Road Rage

Yes, she will fly the 350 miles (563K) to Boise, Idaho to visit her sister. Because there is no direct flight from our local airport, I will take the two hour drive Tuesday morning to Portland so she can get there without flying to Utah or somewhere first and having to change planes. My daughter lives in Portland, so I will spend a couple of days with her. come back home, then return to Portland next Saturday to pick my wife up when she returns. My daughter was a road rage victim yesterday, with some enraged bozo jumping out of his car to confront her and then throwing his drink onto the back of her car as she drove away. She was pretty shaken & called 911. I'm not sure what the outcome of that report was. I'm hoping she does not see him again. I told her that buying a Mercedes was a bad idea. They attract more attention than my old RAV4.

Your wife's sister lives here? I have lived in Boise, Idaho all of my 72 years. That's interesting. It's a small world. Road rage is scary. I'm glad to hear she reported it. That could save the life of someone down the road. You never know.

@celticeagle She had a good time, hadn't seen all the family there for a long time. I spent two nights at my daughter's house in Portland, came home Thursday, then back on Saturday to pick up my wife.

Stay safe with all that driving. Your poor daughter. I've heard that Portland is getting more violent.

Some risks you take just by existing on the roads, sadly.

Sorry about that. Anything and everything is possible when one must be out in the world and facing different types of people.

I am so sorry about the incident your daughter suffered. You are right that buying a Mercedes was a bad idea. Ours was stolen in Italy years ago and my husband always bought more "normal" cars after that accident.

@JamesHxstatic Large expensive cars attract too much attention in our days.

I'm glad your daughter was OK though shaken. It seems no matter what you drive anymore, road rage is hitting so many. I don't like going to Portland anymore. There are a few nice areas still but it just seems so different now.

@noni1959 We went to the Northwest area where she used to live (21st & 23rd area) and it was still really nice. Ate brunch at a place called Besaws in NW and it was fantastically good.

@JamesHxstatic Hillsboro has some nice areas. I love the area up on the hill above OHSU going to Doernbecher. The lookout, houses etc. are really nice. Just have to avoid downtown it seems. I used to love to park down near Yamhill and shop. Not anymore.

Oh goodness, that is one of my biggest fears for myself and my loved ones, being a victim of road rage. I'm glad your daughter reported it. Hopefully the guy will be caught.
