I never went before, but have always heard it advertised. Wow, that place was a mob scene. There really wasn't enough parking and alot of cars parked on residential side streets as I ended up doing. The crowd was polite and well behaved though and the lines moved quickly. I got Kibbe meat with spices and Kaftek?a dessert, plus a bottle of water. It would have been nicer to try more things..but I had a certain dollar amount I didn't want to exceed. I havethe feeling they cleared over 3 million dollars during the course of the festival. I bet they get their fundraising done for the year in one fell swoop. Do you ever go to ethnic festivals?

I'm glad you enjoyed the festival. I went to one when I was in high school. It was a class trip and lots of fun. There aren't any in Green Bay. Edit: They have Polka Fest sometime in summer. I have never gone to it. I don't like to Polka. (Dance) It's big around here. My parents enjoyed going to polka dances. It's a Polish dance.

Yes, they do Polka in my hometown. My grandparents used to do Polka at a local club. Funny though, cuz they weren't Polish. I think they just liked the dancing.

@just4him That must have been fun. Did you have any radio stations that did Polish broadcasts certain times? In my hometown on Sundays there was a Polka hour and the broadcast was primarily in Polish.

@snowy22315 Most likely. My parents weren't either. They liked to go dancing often. There was a TV show on after church on Sunday in Green Bay when we were growing up. If the Packers weren't playing, they would go on the show. We could see them dancing.

Its great that they made so much money for their fund raiser, I am sure that they worked hard for it. We used to love going to Homecoming which was a celebration every Labour Day weekend in the area that we used to come from. It was on a settlement for black people, most of which came up from the southern states, escaping slavery, through the underground railroad. They really knew how to throw a party, it was always a long weekend full of fun and great food. My grandparents used to take me some years when I was a child.

It sounds neat. You should wear a mask and go again for old times sake. The festival they have near here is the Renaissance festival..but done with that for now..They charge too much for food and drink there..and it is almost always too hot

@snowy22315 The history of it is very rich, they just had their 100th Homecoming. It all began as a family reunion on a long weekend. I love going to it, they have bands from Detroit in the parade, they have baseball games and everything that you can imagine, all under a big old apple tree in the grassy area in the village. It is THE best place to run into people that you haven't seen in a long time.

I haven't been to an ethnic festival but what a good idea. I like the lebanese food I've had at music festivals and from food vans.

I have been to food festivals. Here during summer we have many food outlets and restaurants celebrating mango festival. We visited one lavish buffet lunch last week. They had 37 dishes made out of summer...right from starter to dessert, there was enough mango flavour. And it was delicious.

@snowy22315 We have more than hundred varieties of mangoes in India. Each variety has a different taste..some might taste similar if you don't have the refined taste to make out the subtle differences between the taste. I am surprised at Nature's wonder.

I love food festivals and Lebanese food. Most of the food festivals I've attended consist of all types of cuisines, though I think I once went to a Latin food themed one.

We donĀ“t have them here. But I love a Lebanese restaurant that is not so expensive. I specially loce some tripes filled with ground lamb meat. And the patiserie is gorgeous.

They have some Middle Eastern restaurants around, but not specifically Lebanese. We lived very close to one though when I lived in Arlington.

No, only the performers. I couldn't get close enough to the stage to see it though. I saw the dance troupe with their sparkly waistbands wind their way through the crowd.

I have been to a few. I would usually buy enough to store in my fridge if it is the kind of cuisine l like but don't have the time to prepare.

It was fairly expensive. I don_t like it enough to spend big bucks on it. I would learn to make myself.
