Airshippick That would be very strange. I would oppose it 100 pct. It would not foster a healthy relationship for everyone involved. There's probably also a very wide age cap that would get in the way. Imagine your best friend getting it on with your own mother... ew

Airshippick I would go with him or her. It's best to stay together and look after eachother. human beings really are not to be trusted with long distance relationships, but you can give it a try if there is no other option.

Could anyone tell me a good music theory book or ebook which explains much of the music theory behind playing the guitar? May just for beginners or something because I am serious about studying this wonderful instrument.

Airshippick There is a jazz guitar chord eBook online. You can download it comepletely free. It explains the fundamentals of jazz theory and gives you a ton of chord shapes that you can use. You can find it at www.jazzguitar.be

Airshippick Try playing Greensleeves. It's a traditional english folk song. Very nice sounding and great for fingerpicking. Theres quite a few chord changes though. However, they are all basic chords and will really get you started.

Airshippick I agree, playing the bass can be really chill and soothing. It's usually a nice slow tempo that does calm me down. I like to play the blues and jazz also.

What is the First Chord that you usually hit every time you handle the guitar?

How often you Tune your guitar? By Ear or by Guitar tuner?

I am in a band and we have a gig every month on clubs here in our city. I tune my guitar before and after we play a song. And I usually use guitar tuner so I could have a perfect tune, an accurate tune. What's yours?

Airshippick I tune with a guitar tuner. If one isn't available, then i try to tune it by sound. That is, comparing the pitch with something in tune. I wish I had perfect pitch, then I could just tune my guitar intuitively. Unfortunately I wasn't born with that talent. :(

The pinky problem

Can any of you guys give me advice on how to get my pinky finger more involved because i struggle with it. I can play quite well but when it comes to soloing it becomes far to hard as it requires my pinky which is inexperienced....

Airshippick Try practicing the chromatic scales. It puts all your fingers to work and makes your pinky more agile. Also try string bending with your pinky. That will really make it strong and firm.

Airshippick It's hard to make everyone like you. I would say just avoid him too. Trust me, it's a lot worse to have someone that dislike you to be around. Atleast he is avoiding you, that's a good thing.

well I love taking shower before going to bed.. I google it coz I think something is wrong taking shower at night but seems like theres no reason to be afraid.. -advantages are you sleep clean and take away all those dead skin...

Airshippick I like showers in the night time because it really does help you relax. Showers in the morning are good for waking me up though.

well,im 34 and my cousin plays guitar and without his pick it hurt his thumb. he says that sometimes he plays and his thumb gets cut. than he cant play for atleast a week. if you want to learn more go along with the discussion.

Airshippick No. My thumb has never been cut from many years of guitar playing. Either he is plucking or strumming too hard with his thumb or he need to change his strings. Rusty old strings are more rough on the hands. As for the fretting hand, after about a week or two,...
