In the book Freakonomics, written by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner, roughly 550 children under the age of 10 will drown each year in a swimming pool yet roughly 175 children under the age of 10 will die each year from guns. Why do you think there is a huge gun control initiative when swimming pools kill 3 times more children than guns do? |

Unfortunately, a leader can only lead when s/he has followers. And Obama has devoted followers so he's fit to lead. Scum like Hitler was fit to lead--yuck, I don't even want to use him as a reference, but it's (cough, choke, yack, gag) true. And it applies to our president as well. A better question would be, why do Americans let themselves become manipulated by charm instead of truths? And the... |

The answer to your problem is matter-of-fact and straight to the point: ignore her and she will get the hint and go away. There's no reason to dwell or attack your character--you have a problem and I have the solution. Follow my advice and you will be rid of her. You're welcome. |

I read Gerald's Game because the predicament described in the summary seemed quite unusual plus the plot was character driven instead of dialogue dependent. It wasn't bad but I was pretty relieved when it was over. I cringed a couple of times due to the remarkable details but I wouldn't read it again. |

I know an overweight woman who has so much self-confidence when she talks, it's only about her. She may ask how I am doing but she doesn't much care for my answer. Her self-centered personality was instilled/learned somehow... Maybe by her self-centered, overweight mom and her self-centered, overweight sister, or her self-centered overweight aunt? Your generalizations are outrageous. |

Overweight, underweight, average weight, whichever: two people fall in love because of the attraction they have for each other inside and outside. Outside comes first. He isn't attracted to her on the outside so there is no point in continued interaction. Everyone who has been free to choose their mate does so with that attraction factor--if it's not there, it's not there. Ugly and beauty are s... |

Hotdog, first let me say your Nancy "The Joker" Pelosi pic is seriously funny. However, the restated fact: roughly 3 times more children under the age of 10 die by drowning in a swimming pool than by gun involvement. As a gun enthusiast, you should relish this stat (or maybe not, since you say your kids go swimming). But keep your kids safe--I have a feeling your exposure to 8 swimming pools co... |
