 My laptop is a Toshiba, and it tends to get hot if I run it for long periods of time. I no longer use it on my lap, but on a table.. and also shut it down from time to time so it has a chance to cool off.
I also went to the hardware section at Wal Mart and bought some silicone "feet" for it, which are a bit taller than the ones the manufacturer put on there. It gives the laptop a bit more r... |

 I read daily.. but on the days I'm on the go, I download my daily reading to my iPod and listen to it while I do my chores. This is a much easier way to keep getting the Word, and I find that I actually retain more because I listen to it over and over. |

 I have read through the Bible several times, but find taking my time to slow down and study those passages immediately more fulfilling. I use several books to look up the true meanings of the words, and see the scripture as it was originally written. It's amazing what is lost in translation at times. I also do Precept Bible studies to help learn the Word in a real way. |

I do watch DVD's occasionally on the computer. It makes for less stress in the house. When I sit down to watch something, others think it's time to bother Mom and not let her relax. Since I was able to figure this out, I began watching shows that I missed online rather than recording them on the VCR. Since then, our VCR has gone out.. so I stick to online viewing.  I forget the timer most of the time. Good thing my guys love burnt foods. They fight over the burned parts of the meatloaf and ham casserole. I just burnt artichokes tonight. They were not tasty IMO, but we are not wasting food here, so I ate mine without complaint. Ok, without outward complaint, but inwardly, I was wishing I had turned the timer on! |

I had some calla lilies in the back that a friend gave me. They did fine there, but when I moved them to the front yard, the squirrels thought I put them on the menu and made short work of them.
This year, my irises came up (they are in a container) and my hostas. I will be digging those up when we move and taking them with me. They've done great and are getting so big.
