DeenaD started a new discussion called Early signs of autumn.
I live in the northeast, and it seems that around here summer is coming to an end. Signs of autumn are visible now. Here is a tree a spotted, with its leaves already turning yellow. How is it where you live? Are there signs that the season is changing over?

DeenaD responded to a discussion called Are We To Nice To The Disabled in life.

I think a lot of people want to do what they can to help someone who appears to be in need of a bit of assistance. I know I see it all the time. People will offer to open doors or reach something in a high spot, or even help with a shopping cart, as you have said. And yes, sometimes I do think we offend people by offering to help them, though I don't know why this is so.

DeenaD responded to a discussion called End of the World is near! Is it real? in life.

I think they're saying it will come in 2011, not 2012, the supposed end of the world according to the Mayan calendar. And no, I don't believe it. People have been predicting the end of the world for millenia, and the world keeps on going. While I do believe that the world will end someday, I do not think we can predict it like this.

DeenaD responded to a discussion called how many of u read newpaper daily? in reading.

Newspapers are dying out, I think, as more and more people are getting their news from the internet. In the digital age, we don't need to be wasting so much paper. Another problem with newspapers is that some of them are very biased to one political side or the other. I don't even have a subscription anymore!

DeenaD responded to a discussion called online scrapbooking?? in scrapbooking.

I would definitely recommend scrapbooking.com. You can upload your scrapbook pages into online albums to share with others, or to keep private if you prefer. You can browse through literally thousands and thousands of scrapbook pages created by others. You can get creative lines and poems to use on your scrapbook pages, advice on using scrapbooking tools. You can watch how-to videos at their si...

DeenaD responded to a discussion called How much do you depend on the net for information? in internet.

You know, it's funny. We were just talking about this at my house the other day. When I was younger, we had to use encyclopedias to look things up, and sometimes we went to the public library to do research for projects. Now it seems that everything you could ever want to know (and more), you can find the answer on the Internet. I know I get all of my information there! I don't think I could ev...

DeenaD responded to a discussion called Is Coffee Good for a Child? in children.
I definitely think that young children should not be given coffee to drink. It contains a large amount of caffeine, which is not good for them. It habituates them to the taste of coffee at a very young age, which runs the risk of turning them into coffee addicts later on. And furthermore, it may stain their teeth. Now, having said that, I know one lady who gave coffee to her young granddaugh...

Can anyone help me identify this flower?

I found a couple of these large, colorful growing flowers in my garden. Can anyone tell me the name of this flower? I live in the northeast. Thanks!

Birthday party for a 21-year-old child?

My daughter is turning 21 in March. Any ideas for an age-appropriate celebration?

I think it's a good idea.

resumes

In your opinion, should a resume have just one page? Can a resume have two pages?
