If there is coldness between lovers, there is something wrong. Love ones fully romantic but after sometime it goes off, then both should take effort to revive it.I don't agree that you should let it go, just make space, give enough time to think and make efforts to make it romantic once again. It's just a cycle that what is above should be down for sometime.
