 I think there is something about the atmosphere of being in a "quiet" place among others, watching something together, that makes people want to eat. I can't imagine going to the cinema without a small snack and something to drink (even if it's only water!). There are some snacks that may not be so ideal for movies. I've played it on the DS, but it's not very fun. It's just one game, played over and over: Othello.
