This is probably nothing new but as I watched the news, I saw one church in Minneapolis was offering emergency shelter over the blistering cold weekend for the homeless. Wind chills reached 30 below. I thought this was super...

Hugo took me to the bus depot and that saved me a lot of money. It is more expensive to take a taxi across the city than to take a bus to go to another city. I started my trip at midmorning so that we would not be driving at peak...

Sound Biblical Doctrine, that is what I have naively assumed most Christians believe (as I believe), but that is not what is happening in these last days. As I ponder this and how falsehood is becoming more accepted, I am reminded...

Waking up in the wee hours, I noticed right away that something was wrong. No nightlights glowed in the bedroom, (or anywhere else in the house). The power was out. One wouldn’t think that would be such a problem. It never...

I know 'one belief is a-whole-`nother-level above the other'--i.e. I'm not saying FOX NEWS is-or-isn't Christian or that the new tax-plan will-or-won't increase wages--but I am saying that 'the power your hopes depend-on...

We are all cozy in our second night's hotel here in Harrisonburg, Virginia. We have stayed here 3 times before and actually spent a week at a timeshare nearby so we are relatively familiar with the area. This is a new hotel for us...

I was undecided about writing this depressing post when everyone is celebrating the New Year, but I want you to know why I will not be online often the next few days. Early this morning, my dear mother has stopped to suffer, she...

Alice Henry I'm so very sorry to hear that you have lost your mother to death. Perhaps a scripture that I love will bring you some comfort. John 5:28, 29 or Acts 24:15 which says: "I have hope toward God...that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous...

Alice Henry I know several people that will not look me in the eye when they are talking to me. I'm just the opposite. I look directly in the eyes of someone that I am talking with, even if they don't look directly at me. I was a trainer in sales for over 35 years and...

Alice Henry I remember well all the immunizations I had to get before leaving for Okinawa, Japan. I lived there for 18 months. I hope that your son and new daughter-in-law enjoy their honeymoon, but I especially hope that they will be safe and will return home safely.
