Of course you got upset and had every right to, I hope your friend apologized!
I went through gallbladder surgery and suffered just as you did. Even though it was what is classified as bandaide surgery, it still is an invasion of your body and it freaking hurts!

I have read through the posts and I am crying for the love that you have for the adoptees in your life! You truly are a hero! Most people would look at the babies you have and pass them by because they aren't "perfect". There are people like us who will take in a critter that needs love and a chance at life. I spend the weekend at home, although this weekend is a bit different. Since we have had the quagga mussel invasion in the United States, people who utilize bodies of water for recreation must have their boats and trailers inspected for the mussel. It was horrible hearing nothing but grump. I also have an acquaintance who is the same way. Not only is she grumpy but if you have a medical problem she has one that is worse. I have asthma (so does she) and she decided that she had COPD. I have the recently diagnosed heart problem, hers is worse. I had a headache hers was a migraine. I learned about haggling while I lived in Thailand. I love doing it. I lived in Thailand for 9 months and when I returned to the United States I went into culture shock. I went shopping for groceries with my Mom and when they gave her the total I started haggling. The bill was $12.98 and I started in trying to haggle them down. I have had store and shop owners state that to me, and I point that out to them...they can't argue with that logic. Usually stores do their shipping through UPS (United Parcel Service) and the cost of shipping through the... | | Loverbear commented in a discussion called Have you thought to.... in frugal living. 2 days ago Great job!!![em]thumbup[/em] Now if you're like me it turns into a passion and you search for the items that are in a ripped bag, dented box, or a bit dirty. As I said previously, it never hurts to ask. The worst that can happen is that they will say NO. Plus it saves the business the cost of shipping the item back to the warehouse.

Especially since I used to work in a dry cleaners and learned how to handle stains and dirt. I very seldom go into a store and not ask for an additional discount, no matter what the store. It is so much fun to find that one item that I need and I will look for a damaged piece and get that discount.

I can often find the clothing at our local department store on sale for less than I can buy it at the thrift shop. Plus if I can find a dirt spot or other problem I can get an additional discount so it is even cheaper.

I have been worrying about you and was about to email you to see if you were okay. I know how tough it is to go through what you're going through right now. It's great that you came on the lot!
You really ought to try it more. It is a ton of fun, and it saves a bunch of money. I miss the ability to haggle with store owners like I did in Thailand.
