 I've got a 13-hour drive ahead of me this weekend, one way so I'm leaving out of here on Thursday around noon and hope to clear Tennessee and into Kentucky on the first day. I'll have the laptop with me and of course the cell phone.

I'm leaving town at 10:30 today.
Driving 7 hours to Kentucky today and 5 hours to Indiana tomorrow. To those of you who can, please call. You can afford a half hour out of your day can't you? It's a long drive and lately... those drives have been damn lonely. The company would be welcome. There's only one reason I'm doing this trip so those who have my number, feel free to give me a ring.

Well... I'm off. More rain awaits to the north, just waiting for me to cross into Ohio and Indiana and it's going to nail me between the eyes.

It's a long drive.

I'm here.
Got here about 20 minutes ago. I'm unpacking, checked in and all that.
Drove seven hours yesterday, and another 4.5 today. It wasn't bad.
I haven't been here in 30 years. Wow... it has grown.
I got lost and before I knew what I was doing I found myself on the old road I used to run when I played for the Cubs and was getting ready for spring training.
I barely recognized it.... |

 My favorite line ... Nothing worthwhile is easy.
Never has that line hit more close to home than in the last three months.
This has become really hard, and it is... it's worthwhile. It's worth the hurt and the not calling and not being able to talk. It won't last forever.

I have and it bit me in the fanny.
Five years I was involved with her and I planned my future around us eventually being together... I even moved to where I moved... passed up a better paying job in a different location because it was too far away, that she'd rather I be here where I am now given its proximity to her and her family.

With my fractured schedule I rarely watch episode TV anymore. Idol I follow sparingly, enough to stay in touch with what's happening. I did watch the first couple seasons of Lost but it lost me when the writer's strike shut things down.
That said, what I do to get my fix is I buy the whole season compilations of TV shows. The one I've been religiously keeping up with is Smallville.
