We try to buy fresh vegetables once a week and store them in the refrigerator. But unfortunately that's not always possible because of my younger son. So, we end up getting our store brought vegetables often. Before my second son was born, I used to buy fresh vegetables daily from the vegetable vendor. But now it's difficult to do it with my second son.
Honestly, I don't find any of the veget... |
 | SViswan responded to a discussion called Roadside food in cooking. 1 day ago
Roadside food is definitely not healthy or hygienic. But I have to say it does taste good:) I indulge in it only sometimes...especially so that I set an example to my kids. But my husband has his lunch outside the home and he's most probably having such food on a daily basis. And this isn't because I don't cook lunch early in the morning. He doesn't like the idea of carrying a dabba around with... |
 | SViswan responded to a discussion called How organized are you? in have discussion on day to day issues. 1 day ago
I won't call you insane because I'm the same as you. But my husband does say that I'm insane. He thinks I go overboard with the organizing part because he's totally disoganized. Over the years, I've learnt to let things go a bit and try to balance things out. Not that it makes me really happy but I don't want to fight over it. |
 | SViswan responded to a discussion called Do you hate when people smoke in front of you cause you dont smoke and they do.. in life. 1 day ago
YES!! And I have asked people sometimes to refrain from smoking especially when I was pregnant and been around smokers. But some people even ignore such requests. I'm also asthmatic and smoke affects me. I've even seen people smoking right below a no smoking sign! Once at the airport, we saw a group of people smoking near a no smoking sign. My son who was around 4 at the time went up to them an... |
 | SViswan responded to a discussion called Do u miss your mom? in people. 1 day ago
Yes, I do. My mom and I didn't have a great relationship when we stayed together. But now that I;ve become a mother myself, I understand a lot of what she went through. And I've told her so.
My mom calls every week...so we are in touch. But I can't see her as often as I want to. Maybe for a few days once a year. |
 | SViswan responded to a discussion called How is your relationship with your sister or sisters? in sister. 1 day ago
I have one sister and she's younger than I am by 7 years. For a very long time our lives didn't meet. She had a life of her own and I had mine. But when I was in my early twenties, we started bonding. Of course, we had our set of major fights too. In the past one year, we've got to be very close to each other and after her last visit, she said that I've been more of a mother to her and she real... |
 | SViswan responded to a discussion called Why do kids these days have no respect for their parents? in parenting. 1 day ago
Hmmm...I think it's probably because they haven't been corrected the first few times they did it. I find a lot of kids yell and answer back....and I'm younger and younger kids doing it nowadays. I teach kindergarten and I've seen a few of my students do it today. It's not acceptable at our home and that has been made clear to our kids. It's not like the older one doesn't complain or yell once i... |
 | SViswan responded to a discussion called Punishing School Chidren...!!! in student. 1 day ago
Yes, the mother definitely needs to talk to the teacher and to the Principal at school. I teach kindergarten and even though it's only 3 hours, I have a few kids who fall asleep in the class. I usually care them to the daycare and put them to bed there and write a note to the parents saying that they fell asleep at school.
I also talk to all the kids about going to bed early and getting up ear... |
 | SViswan responded to a discussion called What tangled knot we weave in daughter. 1 day ago
Sadly, no. My mother used to do it when I was younger. But after my little sister was born, mom and I used to take care of the tangles in her hair and I had to fend for myself.
I've got two boys now....and since neither mom nor I am around to help my sister with her hair, she's chopped it all off and has shorter hair now. |
 | SViswan responded to a discussion called Do you still use a handkerchief? in life. 1 day ago
I don't...not unless I have a cold. But my husband still carries a handkerchief with him when he leaves the house. Well, his kerchiefs aren't the ones I've embroidered. He wouldn't be caught dead with one of those!
These are all store bought handkerchiefs:) He doesn't like to use the disposable tissues and he prefers the kerchiefs over them. |
