I've moved 8 times. 3 times in my hometown, once to college, 2 apartments in two different cities within two years, once to Cape Cod, and now to NH - it's interesting! As you can see, I'm a New England gal:)

That depends on so many things - what you want to go for, where you want to go (Harvard? Yale?), what pre-entry tests you are willing to study for and take. I am pursuing my M.Ed in School Counseling right now, and the process is worse than the actual program. I feel your hurt in this, and I think a larger majority of people are in this same boat than you might think. A lot of times I wonder if I am the only one who is living on my own, going to school, moved away from my friends and family, and financially trying to balance what seems like a million dollars in bills a month on a very limited income. I would definitely rather give a present, I think that it offers a much more personable message and it's fun to see them open it! I would give money for something like a wedding or a graduation, but a gift for a birthday or a holiday.
