SerpentsTongue You can't cure depression but you can treat it and it can go into remission. Stress can activate it. You could have a chemical imbalance in the brain. Meds help a lot if the depression is serious, therapy, and something called Dialectical Behavior Therapy....

SerpentsTongue I haven't had this problem with seroquel, but I have from some of my other bipolar medications. If she is on an antidepressant or a mood stabilizer these could make her gain weight. The best thing to do is to ask her doctor.

SerpentsTongue It is normal to feel pain when you lose your sister. A year is not very long to deal with it. Try finding a bereavement support group, or talk to a therapist to help ease the pain. You will never get over it, but you can learn to live your life happily.
