I think that you have tried it once and failed. The cd is no more useable. You should get a new cd-r, I advise you to use CD-R instead of DVD-r. Insert it in the cd-rom, and browse to your CD-RW drive. Copy your daughter's pictures to the CD-RW. They will be shown as temporary files which are to be written to the CD. Unfortunately one antivirus is not enough to be safe on the internet I use three antiviruses AVG which does a full time job. Avira and Avast for part time job[em]wink[/em]

Hmm, the best time to change/upgrade your computer is approx 5 years. But if you are facing problems then I suggest you upgrade it right now. I think that the noise problems you are facing is because your system is not clean from the inside. If you can then try to clean it yourself, otherise you better take it to a hardware technician.
