Recently my wife and I visited the Tucson Botanical Gardens where one of the most fascinating exhibits was the Butterfly exhibit which was a large enclosure with hundreds of butterflies and flowers. It was quite an experience and I spent over an hour there taking pictures and watching the butterflies.
I have attached a couple of my pictures here and have posted many more, including some video... |

Have you ever taken a picture of lightning. I have always found lightning to be fascinating and, while watching an electrical storm (from somewhere that is both safe and dry) the streaks of lightning seem to be visible for many seconds. However, whenever I have tried to photograph lightning using a regular point and shoot camera the lightning is gone before I can even aim the camera, let alone ... |

I, too, like watching butterflies fly around. They are beautiful creatures.
I recently published an article and pictures about a trip to a walk-in enclosure which housed hundreds of butterflies and flowers. It was fascinating and I spent over an hour taking pictures of the butterflies. You can see the pictures, including a short video, at http://hubpages.com/_shamrocks/hub/butterfly-dau |

This sounds like quite an event. I live in Tucson, Arizona which is a medium size city with tourism as a major industry so we have a lot of festivals and special events which I have described in an article here http://hubpages.com/_shamrocks/hub/My_Tucson_Arizona_Hubs, throughout the Autumn, Winter and Spring. Things quiet down during the Summer, mainly because it is too hot do venture out of d... |

Thanks for the comment.
As for my camera, it is a Canon PowerShot A570IS digital camera. A nice little compact digital camera.
As for the Atlas moth, he had finished crawling out of his cacoon about an hour earlier and was probably tired. Also, the docent said that he was more of a night creature than a day one and that may have contributed to his sluggishness. As I said in my article, th... |
